Sometimes one spawns that can offer items that are actually useful for doing some high level in game things. I'm thinking when they do I'll just nametag them so they never despawn. Its pretty rare when that happens. Usually they just offer common things that you really wouldn't harvest on purpose.

The wandering trader is not really to get good deals, its more of a start to a farm like if you live far away from an ocean you cant get kelp, and so he sells it so that you can start farming kelp without travelling far to an ocean

Here’s what i got from this story (there’s no dialogue except for “huh” so..): A Wandering villager goes into a desert realizing he has no water.. eventually he finds a desert village, Perfect for getting things for his long journey ahead of him.. The first thing he sees is a small villager who offers some water The small child gives him a water bottle in exchange for 1 emerald, The W.V goes into the village to find food for his journey coming across a villager who doesnt really sell much, he buys out the station to place his own trades for more emeralds, The other villagers seem to notice him, Fellow villagers line up to get 1 (gingerbread cookie?) In exchange for a single emerald, The same little Villager from earlier gets a gingerbread cookie from his possible father or maybe another villager, The W.V sees an aggressive villager treating his llama without any care or respect, So he then buys the llama in exchange for 4 emeralds and 4 gingerbread cookies.. He gives the llama a carrot and the llama agrees to follow him on his journey, He buys a hotel room for him and his new companion for the night, He stares at the window to his llama and waves at him (i think) he lays in bed sleeping the day away when he wakes up the next morning to the distress of his companion to see.. a smaller llama next to it, The llama is a female, And it has just given birth to a new baby! The W.V buys a carrot cake forboth the llama and her new child.. W.V buys some (clothing? scarves? idk i’ll say clothing) for his new companions for 2 emeralds.. He spotted the previously mentioned aggresive villager (A.V) and glances at them, So does his llama’s A.V seems mad 2 Little children of the village offer a map and some water for W.V’s journey.. W.V leaves the village Half way through the journey the small llama (S.L) is tired.. W.V puts S.L on The Big Llama’s (B.L) back and walks and walks until the day is almost over.. More walking he finds an abandoned hotel and decides to stay for the night.. A.V followed him, He looks at the llama’s and smiles evilly, He walks into the hotel and smacks W.V into the wall He seems to have asked for all his emeralds, A.V walks out with 5 emeralds but gets stopped by B.L B.L Kicks A.V into the wall leaving him unconscious for the night Next day A.V leaves feeling.. alive.. He feels he needs to change W.V then continues on his journey not realizing that a new non villager person has joined the world to either make his day, Or break both him and his llama’s Think about this story the next time you see W.V think about the trouble he may have went through and then you’ll think twice about using him for his leads and his llama’s for leather Need leather? cows got leather, Or just go fishing and have patience Needs leads? Go fishing, It might take a bit but its worth it Go exploring Dungeons and desert temple chests are sometimes filled with leather and leads take your chance but dont be what A.V tried to be Dont do it for greed just do it for need -Agent 11 2019 this video might be recommendation 5 years later! Guys you don’t have to kill them to get the lead, just trap them in a one block box where they can’t get out and have the llamas on the outside of the box. Then place a boat by the llamas and push the llamas in the boats. The leads should drop and you can take the llamas after breaking the boat. Your welcome but just remember to let the wandering traders free. My bad you don’t have to take the llamas just the leads if u want.
