Llangollen Railway, Spring Steam Gala, Friday 4th April 2014

On Friday 4th April 2014, the Llangollen Railway held their annual Spring Steam Gala. The railway had opted to stage their gala around a theme of Croes Newydd, a Welsh locomotive shed closed long ago.
The railway were operating 4 locomotives (2 home-fleet, and 2 visiting locomotives) on 2 passenger sets, the Suburban set and a very short freight.
Home fleet locomotives were:
GWR Collett 2884 Class 2-8-0 no. 3802 (carrying BR Black livery)
BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T no. 80072 (carrying no. 80096, a locomotive which used to be based at Croes Newydd)
Visiting locomotives were:
BR (WR) 1600 Class 0-6-0PT no. 1638 (courtesy of the Kent and East Sussex Railway)
GWR 4300 Class 2-6-0 no. 5322 (courtesy of Didcot Railway Centre)
