Scratchy lanes are a no-go for me, cant afford to keep repairing the damage. Great vid as always guys, keep it up!

We don't do too much damage and certainly nothing that wouldn't polish out. Just best to not polish too often and wear the paint thin.

Great video! Such great views from that day!😀 We can not wait to get out and about again as a group! This video did not help at all but was fun to watch back, such a shame we didn’t stay for the night and see Chris finally sleep in a tent and not the Jeep!🤣

Always fancied a Jeep Wranger Overland JL. Besides them looking great and being a capable offroader, the lady and I always end up in the peaks everyweekend doing wildlife photography. One of these would be perfect although I'm not so sure about the fuel economy and reliability?
@chrissudle42084 жыл бұрын
I own a 2018 Rubicon JL Diesel. (@Rexy_The_Rubicon) on Instagram... (Shameful plug). Fuel economy is what you expect from driving a car with the aero dynamics of a brick however if you drive like I do and take it easy you will get low 30s. When I first got the Jeep (pre Lockdown 2021, I was getting 32/33mpg. This was from longer journeys travelling to off-road areas. As of right this minute im sitting at 27mpg as the only driving were doing is to the shops and back which is far from ideal for a diesel. Low 30s for me is acceptable given the weight and shape of the jeep. If you dont have a heavy foot and take it chill then you will be fine. Reliability so far I cant complain. From what ive heard they have a good record with only minor issues like door seels cracking, which is a pretty cheap job to fix. Hope this helps but if not, feel free to reach out on insta.
@ModifiedJeepsUK4 жыл бұрын
I think it would be the perfect tool for the job. The overland offers decent trim levels too. Fuel economy is decent (until you start heavily modifying them) around 30mpg depending on engine choice and driving styles etc. The reliability is pretty good too. It's a new (3 years old) model and has had its issues, but overall reliability has always been very good with Jeeps.

As usual a great video. Guess this took place a while back given the leaves on the trees. What size tires do the various Jeeps run and what about the Jimny? Looked like that struggled a bit with one of the steps. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to part two.
@ModifiedJeepsUK4 жыл бұрын
Haha yes, this was filmed mid September (do you remember being able to go out?😅) Leaves and t-shirts! On our Jeep and the green one the tyres are 37" and more than capable. 35" on the black and the white Jeep - as for the Jimny, I'm not sure but they are tiny haha. What doesn't;t come across on video very well is just how steep that hill was before adding steps into the equation. After the intro at about 4:15 you can see Simon stumbling down the hill and then Aneta's feet at an angle. Gives you some idea. It was very difficult to walk up and down.
@eversleyowl4 жыл бұрын
37”, real monsters then. Can you run those on a JL on standard axles or have they been upgraded. Thinking about putting 35” on my TJ, but everything I read suggested I need to upgrade to chromoly axles to do that.
@ModifiedJeepsUK4 жыл бұрын
@@eversleyowl You can if it's the rubicon edition, which has different gearing and stronger parts. Otherwise I'd recommend 35"s for other JLs. As for TJ, I think 33" is good enough for anything we have in the UK. We have 33" on the CJ too.

Great video guys. Aneta has the right idea though Corona beer Is best especially when ice cold 🍺🤙🤠🏕️. How's that trailer doing in tow looked like 1 hang up but nothing major in guessing?
@ModifiedJeepsUK4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jason. Yes we agree, ice cold Corona with lime is perfect on a nice summer evening (this video was filmed in the summer). The trailer seems to tow quite well for a heavy trailer. I hope our will be good too, although the point of the trailer for us, is for a base camp while we go off to find more lanes.

Thanks 🙂 Not when we were there. Although, bastard lane did (which is featured in the second video just out now), so we were only able to go down hill. Unfortunately we have seen video clips on FB of people going up it recently. I'm sure the one way advice is still currently running.

@ModifiedJeepsUK3 жыл бұрын
We air down to 18-20psi. The little Jimny had small tyres and the black JK was pulling a heavy trailer up a very steep hill. Otherwise we climbed everything with ease. We recommend airing down to everyone, so much more comfortable too!
