The language is Cymraeg or Welsh. The main singer is Bryn Fon B-RRRR-I-N in English and Von is like the German Von but a roll on the O He is with 'Sain records'. The guy with the cloth on his head is Dewi man of many talents lol

Many, many thanks for all your answers. This welsh language sounds warm and exceptional. Please don't be angry, if I asked a silly question: it's origin - is it gaelic? Or where does it come from? And a last question about this song: about what do they sing? Again many thanks for your answers and heartily greets from Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany to Wales in Great Britain.

Chuir mé focail Ghaeilge leis an amhrán seo i 1974 tar éis an Éisteddfod. 'Mairéidín' is ainm dó. I wrote a loose translation in Gaeilge (Irish language) of this song after visiting the Eisteddfod. It's on an albam called Téanam Ort (outlet) played by a band called Ty Bach, formed under the influence of Welsh bands

It's a celtic language, which was influenced by latin: dysgu for example discere - to learn. However, I'm from germany too and I'm currently learning some welsh. If you are interested... just PM me or something. I can give you some recources about the language.

What a fine melody and the voice of the mainsinger is real good. I've tried to find out some about this group, but without success. Who can tell me more about them? Where do they come from? What languagedo they speak? And the most problem for me (I'm a german; "normal"english is no problem for me and also the scottish dialect, but the language or dialect of this band is really a mystery for me!) How do I have to pronounce their name and this title?

Lleucu llwyd... Something grey? What's the translation?
@WelshBathBoy6 жыл бұрын
Lleucu is a Welsh female name, although llwyd is the welsh word for grey, it is also a surname, it is the origin of the name Lloyd - which is the anglicised equivalent. Lleucu Llwyd was the lover of 14th Century poet Llywelyn Goch ap Meurig Hen, who wrote a lamentful poem about her when she died.
