The (east side of the) Yucatan peninsula is one of the most humid spots in all of Mexico. It's also fairly bug-gy. The city of Santiago de Querétaro (popularly called just Querétaro) is one of the more pleasant locales in that marvelous country. Its weather is quite temperate & pleasant. And, the humidity is comparative quite low so you aren't feeling so NOT and sticky all of the time, Guys.

Getting Baja fish tacos all the way over in Puerto Morelos, is a bit of a stretch, seems to me. I recommend getting such as close as possible to the original source. Oh, and Mandy ... your Sunnies are killer retro looking. Love 'em! Where please did you get them?

Hidden Beach = Seaweed beach. Rocks and Seaweed are a bit tricky to navigate around and through, aren't they? Nice as unpopulated beaches ARE, Guys, I'd still recommend that you swim where there are lifeguards. After all, You'd hate for a ripper of a rip current to drag one of you out, with nil chance of rescue!

That open-faced sammie shown at 15:54 (I reckon) is a tostada, Guys and the cheese is likely queso fresco, because it looks like feta and crumbles like it, as well. I wish they'd been less chincy (sparing) with the avos though. One can never have too much avocado on any dish, seems to me. I love that fruit-veg. I almost never buy it, though, because the chances of taking home something that will only turn out to be BLACK on the inside is quite high, alas!

I love Puerto Morelos, but it is getting overcrowded! I am a veteran of many a Florida Spring Breaks due to my high school kids, and I can say the crowds on the weekend in Puerto Morelos were as much if not more than my experiences with Florida Spring breaks. Last Saturday (Feb. 25th, 2023) afternoon we drove out to the Colonia and the traffic heading into PM was backed up from the park to nearly the highway! On the way back Google maps estimated a 48 minute drive back to the port side! It was 9 minutes on the way out. Sunday was even more crowded. It's a small town and not designed for the influx of cars, let alone parking. Maybe avoid it on the weekends.

Puerto Morelos has so many things to offer. It’s a shame you just covered maybe 5 blocks of the beachside. The route de Cenote has so many swimming spots, zip lines, diving platforms etc. also the “real” part of the town is the Colonia side where the majority of the locals live. Glad you had fun!

There are so many great places on the pacific coast above Nuevo Vallarta. Rincon de Guayabitos is probably my favorite. Low to mid end hotels, villas and many great restaurants. Beach is awesome (though sometimes crowded) and sand bar goes a good distance into the bay. Fishing boats just land themselves onto the beach with fresh catch. It's a vacation place for the Mexican people, very few gringos. Been there 3 times for 2 days at a time. Never even close to a bad experience. Hawkers is the only inconvenience, but they are personable and not pushy. Of course, 10 years ago was last time there, and everything changes, hopefully not there.

@rh71632 жыл бұрын
The beaches really don't inspire me to take a swim as there is too much seaweed and the brownish water at the shoreline doesn't do much either which means going to a hotel on the beach which keeps their beaches clean, free of rocks and seaweed but comes with the price of a room in the hotel, on the beach. Plenty of beaches south of there that are very clean including Puerto Vallarta.

At 10:40 in this video, in the background is a display of art. That stand is owned by a fascinating old gentleman from Cuba. He does not push you to buy but he loves to talk and share his stories of growing up in Cuba. He is the most polite, interesting man. We bought two prints from him, he charges $20 USD or two for $30 USD. Not only do we have amazing souvenirs but we had an incredible experience chatting with him. He is right next to the breakfast place LLoyd and Mandy are walking by, do go check him out!

There aren’t ‘open tacos’, that was a ‘chicharron preparado’ and its similar to ‘tostada’ and are made with many different things on top. Forget Taco Bell’s reference please because there is no more twisted interpretation of taco than that. There are fried tacos for sure but are called ‘flautas’ in some places and are not the most popular ones.

Agreed the sargassum is out of control, but I did ask a local who said it was worse in 2018. As for the prices, you're probably right, I'm sure it used to be much cheaper, but prices in our home countries (Australia & Canada) have increased so dramatically that our generation can't even afford to rent a place for themselves let alone buy one.

Keep up the great work and outstanding videos! 😎👍
@axreacts2 жыл бұрын
Don't drink the water here unless your building has special treatment to the water, which is rare. Some hotels will have it as well. Bottled water is the way of life. I used the tap water for my teeth, shower, or if I need to swallow a pill or something for a small amount only. Local food is great, and so is the street food. You will see the carts that have people. Go to those.
@diegoflynn62152 жыл бұрын
We don't drink the local water either. Since we don't spend extended periods of time in Mexico, we always end up turning to Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) to deal with the inevitable GI symptoms that come with eating in a foreign country.

@@LloydandMandy The "leaning" white cement tower structure is the old Puerto Morelos Light House...in its' original location. Years ago, it was damaged by a hurricane...hence the tilt. Rather than knock it down, the town decided to keep it as is & use it as a landmark. Ex-Pats & locals frequently use it as a meeting place...'cause everyone knows where it is. Somewhat like travelers during the early to mid-20th Century arranged to meet at the well-known clock in Grand Central Station in NYC. 🙂 There are several such hurricane-damaged lighthouses along the coast. You can’t beat the beautiful beaches of Cancun, no way, no how. Cancun was once primitively simple luxury but its growth has been enjoyed from over 1 billion visitors since its first hotel opened and not by chance. Cancuns airport is the worlds fastest growing airport in the world. Over 30 million travels came to Cancun 2022. There are plenty of beautiful places but comparing any other part of Mexico to all it offers is futile.
