Thank you for another great video!!! I own this car since 2010. I just apsolutelly love it. Engine is super quiet. People mostly hate it just because other people say that. Most of them who make negative comments on vti engine, have never had it. It has flaws and deffinitelly not among best engines but far from piece of crap as people like to call them. It requires regular oil changes, and that's the most fatal factory mistake, that they said to change oil every 20000 km. Many people lost warranty by doing oil change on 10000km. Chain is also weak point on this engine. Maybe the biggest problem for owners of this engine is mechanics, as where I live 90% of them are parts changers.

After 10 years my vti engine threw its first real problem, map sensor. Actually, at 7 years i changed the fuel pump. My Citroen turned out to be the best car i´ve ever had.

I have a Citroen C3 with the same automatic gearbox fault, it happend to be a common fault, I replaced the two clutch solenoid on the manifold. AL4 DP0 is the gearbox type. My gearbox had very bad clutch engagement to the point it was undrivable. Thanks for the video!!

Had same on my wives car. Error would come up randomly, but switching it off and on would resolve it. Replaced solenoids and no issues for 6 months now.

The P0597 is a common fault, caused by a faulty heating resistor in the thermostat housing. It does not bring on the engine management light but may stop the A/C compressor from engaging. You can change the thermostat to fix it, or you can disconnect the circuit from the thermostat housing and fit an external 47 Ohm resistor to fool the ECU into thinking that everything is OK, and there seem to be no side effects.

Argh just replaced mine today to fix the AC etc. Next time I'll do the 47ohm resistor fix as replacing the entire housing is quite an ugly job.

Nice video and great explanation with a known good . Can't say I have ever experienced anything different than a bad solenoid but I don't have a lot of clients with petrol engine cars . . The thermostat problem should be fixed but I guess your client will allow you to do that ,if he is smart . You know it already but keep the suspense for another video

The vanos valve and engine as fitted to the R56 Mini. Common issue. In theory after figment you should re adapt the solenoid. It re sets the engine timing across its working parameters. Your resistance readings were perfect. The thermostat code will not necessarily bring on the EML. It’s the thermostat heater. All part of opening the thermostat early opening, before the main thermostat does. One thing if you want to sort it out you will have to change the thermostat. Big job but do - able. Key to running this engine is regular oil changes and keep it topped up. All these valves and the VVT rely on oil pressure.

Can't you just replace the heater in the thermostat? In GM vehicles, the heating element is changed separately ...
@kimdean84414 жыл бұрын
No, it’s inbuilt into the unit.
@farmsoss18972 жыл бұрын
How to re set it?
@kimdean84412 жыл бұрын
You may not need to. Replacement of a faulty Vanos usually sorts out the fault.

Hi Louis,i hope your fine and well. i wonder if you can advise, after our recent communication i also bought the Autel MK908P However after watching one of your videos and others on changing logos, i have not been able to do it, the rep that sold me the unit said the new software prevents you changing to decent logos, i went to scan/vehicle/Europe/ and chose one of the car folders, deleted all logos except car.png but no change in the main area when you go to see if the new logo is there. Is it true the mk908p software prevents this now? Thanks in advance kind regards Jay
@LMAutoRepairs4 жыл бұрын
I never tried on the MK... Do you have the correct logo to replace the circle one? The way I have done on the video I have posted couple weeks ago, is the way it works perfectly for the MS...
@jaykent66454 жыл бұрын
@@LMAutoRepairs Thanks anyway mate yes it has all the logos in another vehicle folder called Vehicle CV i think, thats where i got the logo from, in the ferrari section in vehicles it has a few logos including a ferrari one, if i delete the others and just leave the ferrari one, when u go into the tool normally its just the same circled black and white ones. Thanks anyway Louis 😊

How hot was it getting with the temperature curve fault? I had this problem twice on my m62 BMW due to a faulty thermostat heater. On the BMW the coolant temperature rises to about 113 degrees all the time. So its not realy a good idea to leave it.
