is not that bad bro, Grapplers are good against Sonic, especially Inci and DK. They can kill Sonic so early and are surprisingly good in neutral because of his defensive tools, I don't think they win the MU, but is not as bad how it seems.

Getting to time out vs incineroar is really hard to get because Alolan Whip beats all of sonic's specials except the startup of side b. With correct stagebans, going for time out is near impossible.

Here's my theory: Skyjay's first win came from Sonix underestimating him that first game. Skyjay does pretty bad a lot of first games I've seen from him, but I think it's on purpose so that he can learn the reads and save the tricks for the rest of the matches. His first win he plays great. His second win he exploits a bunch of Sonix's habits and errors. Sonix is super pissed now but Skyjay is still riding his high. Sonix adapts super well to Skyjay in game 5 and Skyjay doesn't adapt very well in the moment. He seems kind of tired to me after those first four games. Idk. Either his mindset was off or Sonix seriously doubled down on getting the set win right there and then
