I love that Kamemes wario is different by a good amount than Gluttonys and Tweeps, that's atleast how i see it. I see him go for a lot more half wafts and also against Venia he parried a lot into waft which was sick

Great adaptation from kameme, and lots of greedy overconfidence play from maister as usual lol Not saying maister isn't a beast but sometimes he should take his opponent a bit more seriously

I wouldn't call it overconfidence, this was an incredibly close game even after maister practically threw a win in game two. The way maister was playing was just super aggressive, which I think is the best plan for characters who can just keep throwing out move after move like g&m can. Not to say that Kameme didn't deserve that win, as he had exceptional play the entire way through.

thekingbradable Na. Outside of waft and his excellent mobility, Wario honestly doesn’t have that many redeeming features. Bike is good, but if he doesn’t have it, his recovery is pretty average. If he whifs the waft, there’s little he can do until he gets it back. You just have to avoid down tilt to dash attack and back air. He’s balanced in my opinion.

Waft is what makes the character good. Wario has really bad hitboxes that lose out to everything and zero spammable specials to lean on. He would be horrible with a waft nerf. People that don’t play the character always say he needs a nerf, but he has a lot of weaknesses already

DrCoeloCephalo projectiles and swords exist, there is no counter play to waft besides not getting hit, and good luck with that against pros. Plus maister was literally losing advantage every time he was charging up smash because wario gains waft from waiting. Wario literally forces his opponent to approach and take stocks quickly because each second wasted is a second closer to your stock disappearing. I mean do you even listen to the commentators during wario games, they're literally saying crap like the game is still even / in wario's favor when wario is down % or a stock because half waft is a 5 frame kill confirm at like 80 mid stage for most characters. On top of all that wario is still a good character without waft because he has great ledge trapping and combos. Sorry for the whole paragraph but wario kinda is op.

@@goodood9028 He's not. He has shitty range and half his moveset doesn't actually work or is useful. He can't approach safely and as they said in this match, dealing with long range and disjoints as Wario requires you to make the openings yourself which is very hard to do and most of his good options don't come out till frame 5 or later. Funny how only like 3 top players in Kameme, Glutonny and Tweek are the only ones winning things consistently with this character. If he's so OP, how come more people aren't winning with him?

DrCoeloCephalo I would say that if they removed wario's waft, he would still be at least mid tier due to having pretty good combos, great recovery, and strong ledge guarding, trust me struggling in neutral definitely isn't only a wario thing. Waft is just so incredibly strong that he is a top tier, which I personally do not think is balanced, characters shouldn't have abilities so good that they bump them up like three tiers all on their own. On top of that the ultimate meta is pretty new and people aren't playing completely optimally yet. Optimal wario play is gonna be some of the worst competitive play to watch. Wario's optimal game plan in to literally run away until you get waft and then combo into kill confirm. Think of puff in mele except worse cuz running away gives advantage. Also don't think frame 5 is bad, because frame 5 is incredible, it lets you wiff punish and is still a good neutral option cuz it's hard to react to. Half of the cast's jabs are frame 5 or slower. A character being easy to play isn't what makes top tiers no matter what palutena tells you. Just because only like three people are being successful with wario doesn't mean wario is bad it means that only three pros picked up wario and trained with him to the point of being competitively viable. Unlike palu wario's combos aren't that easy and take time to lab and most pros only have enough time to lab for maybe two to three characters if they don't want to just solo with their main. If they were to nerf wario by just outright removing waft I would definitely agree that they should buff some other part of him, because you're right wario's main thing is waft. All I want really is for wario to have to earn waft and Not just get it because he waited long enough.
