I’ve had both the rough country & K&N on my 2012 Colorado with the V8. I definitely like the K&N much better. The truck has an LS3 Swap in it that came out of a corvette. I’ve crammed it and have upgraded everything imaginable on it. The RC turned my check engine light on, but never had an issue with the K&N. It’s worth the extra money as far as I’m concerned.

That threaded plug welded on the intake pipe may just be for some go fast juice 👀, where all you’ve have to do is drill a small hole in it then thread your go fast juice line in there and then your set? Just a thought

I had that intake on my 2018 silverado z71. Its not bad in the winter but the tune get crazy hot in the summer time. But since your gettin one of those special intakes with a belt attachment, that cold air intake wont be needed

The stock NNBS air box is good for 500+ whp AND is a cold air intake. You just installed an hot air intake that will most likely increase predetonation/knock, but it sounds good. Just debaffle the stock airbox and inner fender then call it a day. That actually should would a great test with your draggy. Stock air box vs debaffle vs "cold air" intake. Most people on the forums agreed that a $500 afe intake just isn't worth it for 5hp with a tune.

Have the same one on my 2016 sierra 1500 5.3 can't use automatic car wash because It blows through the filter even after I decided to oil it even though they told me it's a dry filter and check the filter itself at least once a month for the big hose clamp being loose. I'm not sure if i benefitted any performance from it only because if you're always stomping on it all I can hear is the rumble it brings. Noise is the only thing I can't complain about it because its loudly annoying and It's great 👌

You need you have knock on your diablo gauge. You have useless paramiters like speed, tach, and volts, its in your trucks dash already. Log short term fuel trims and long turm fuel trims for both banks. !!!!!Log knock/predetonation !!!!!! Those cheap intakes cause your vehicle to run leaner without a tune. Wonder way it's getting better MPG.
