Why are the synchronising gears needed? Wont the rollers automatically sync by rolling on the workpiece?

@@cymrickfalstad1097 each material elongate a bit different. We run normally the federate 3% less pitch so material can get longer if needed. Works very well over decades. Keep on Rollin…‘
