Spunds weird that you go to thentrouble of using a British slang verb like "nicked" to mean Skillicorn being arrested, but pronounce Bernard Cornwell's first name as Ber-nAAAAAARRRRRd.

Why in the name of hell the scriptwriters changed things about so much is beyond me. I.E swapping Gibbon's and Berry's characters around for no discernable reason? I mean, I get the budget limitations, but if they can do Talavera in Sharpe's Eagle, and Badajos, in Sharp's Company, surely they could've NOT introduced some mystical meowing conquistador and TRIED to stick just a little bit to the book. After all, It's not until Sharpe blows up Almeida that you need more than two Riflemen and a few partisans.

Wellingtons spymaster in the Peninsula was Major Scovell , and why the hell is Munro wearing a Gorget ? ..... Sharpe the series is absolute trash from start to finish and does a disservice to all the brave lads who fought in the peninsula war

Finally! I finally found the only other person on the fucking planet who agrees with me! Like most people I first enjoyed a few Sharpe episodes, then went looking for the novels at about fourteen and fifteen. I then didn't see any further films until I was about seventeen, by which time I'd devoured the entire series. My mental images of Sharpe's adventures had become the dominant ones, so when another series came out, the flaws, changes, and rearrangements were VERY jarring. When Waterloo came out, which was the absolute SHITTEST of them all (it didn't help that I had the movie Waterloo to compare it to) it broke me. Then Hornblower came out and completely owned Sharpe in every single way. I always felt cheated that Hornblower stopped just as it was getting interesting.
