Eddie The Eagle is a severely underrated and overlooked hero, he deserves a knighthood for his determination and inspiration in my opinion.

A news anchor once said about eddy "hes a failure in his chosen sport" but when your sport is 90 meter ski jumping and nobody in your country dares to do it because of how deadly it is it takes a special kind of courage.

An Awesome man! Eddie you had all the good reasons in the world most of which not under your control for not making it to the olympics yet you managed to do it. That is an amazing acheivement! Well done! Whenever I am lined up for something for which I feel inadequate yet I still want to do it I simply do it and let the other people criticize as at the end of the day I am the one who has the nice memory and not them. I was there in 1988 as a 10 year old kid watching him jump in person. The crowd (80,000) that day went bananas when he jumped. One of the best childhood memories I have. Too bad the movie that was made a few years ago was such a made up piece of garbage. They took an amazing story and changed 90% of it. Even the city view of Calgary in the movie wasn't even Calgary. Ok rant over....
