The clones' memories being altered, to drive them to complete Order 66, was such a cool idea. Awesome job! Edit: where did the idea come about?

It was a random thought while thinking about the inhibitor chips. Like obeying a command without question is one thing, but there must be some sort of reprogramming going on, so they accept the order without any conflict or resistance. That's where I had the idea that by altering their memories the clones can feel like this is a justified thing to do!

@@stormpants1638 correct me if I'm wrong but i thought it was generally discouraged for jedi to bond with clones? with the exception of Anakin, Ahsoka and obi-wan i vaguely recall Mace Windu criticizing Anakin in the animated show for just that. jedi code forbids forming attachments I'm sure jedi where heavily discouraged to befriend their clone child army. always thought inhibitor chips are dumb they're clones not droids. they're bred for combat and to follow orders they're children soldiers basically and presumably they all have the various orders drilled into em from birth so while a few that did bond would find it difficult (and theres some legends stuff of clones going rogue) id absolutely believe the overwhelming majority would execute em.
@Asiandiskool4 жыл бұрын
OriginalDan you can’t form personal deep attachments as a Jedi, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be close to the clones. The Jedi are friends with one another, it shouldn’t be different with clones that fight to die for you and you doing the same for them. Even if the Jedi themselves aren’t personally attached, the clones for sure are going to be attached to their generals who try their hardest to keep you alive.

Truly diabolical.

@@ray3413 It doesn't though. There was no hate prior to the order being issued, and the issuing of the order rewrote their memories in order to make them hate the Jedi. The memory rewrite happened instantaneously in real time and in what would seem like the flip of a switch they would turn on their old friends. It makes sense too for Rex at the end of Season 7 as he was very strong minded, so the rewrite would've been rather traumatic and the old, original memories would've been conflicting with the rewritten ones, causing him major internal conflict.

Memories being altered like that can actually make sense. If you are "convinced" of something, your own mind will even alter your memories to suit the perception. Memories are not perfect, after all. If a person convinces you that something that didn't happen happened, and you find yourself believing it, your own mind will create a false memory to suit that perception. So when Order 66 was called, every Clone was given the statement that the Jedi are traitors. So when your brain is convinced of that, the Clones begin to suddenly alter their own memories by this fact, and thus their memories of the Jedi become negative to believe that they are, in fact, traitors. This is why Rex was struggling against the command when he saw Ahsoka. He was fighting the order because he was still not convincing himself of the perception and clung to his unaltered memories, or unwilling to believe in the fake memories, before he succumbed to it. Once the chip was removed, his mind began to recall what the memories really were. This is my headcanon.
@reellezahl4 жыл бұрын
Their interpretation of order 66 is interesting but afaik unfortunately wrong. We've seen the official cannon: the clone troopers received the order and the implanted chip ensured they would execute the order and would not resist. There was no reediting of memories à la Black Mirror's *Men against fire* .

All Sidious had said was, "Execute Order 66." Yet, Rex and others suddenly perceived the Jedi as already having been found guilty of treason. They had an entire backstory suddenly in their minds that a trial had already taken place. That is evidence that altered memories had been inserted. Rex, much closer to two Jedi than any other clone trooper was to any, resisted the new memory for a short period.

“I hesitated for a moment when I received Order 66 because the last thing I expected was a Jedi coup. Did I feel betrayed? You bet I did. I thought of all my men who died under Ki-Adi-Mundi's command, and if I'd known then that he and his buddies were gearing up to do the Separatists' work for them and overthrow the government, I'd have shot him as a traitor a lot earlier. He betrayed the trust of every one of us.” -Commander Bacara, following Order 66. I love that this video makes the legends and canon both make sense (as the clone wars show also is within the legends continuity); the chip didn’t control the clones actions and mind-control them, it altered their memories of the Jedi to make them more complacent with following the 150 contingency orders of the republic. In the Republic Commando novels, most of clones in that storyline already had very pessimistic views on the ways of the Jedi, and already experienced bad things with them. But the clones we followed in the 2008 animated series were following the best generals in the war, those that saw honor bravery and courage. This makes all of it work perfectly.

@@XxDJBlazze 100%. I used to also believe that inhibitor chips just made clones into mindless Jedi killing machines. After the last season of the Clone Wars though, I realized that that wouldn't make any sense. What's the point in creating an army of organic, sentient, and thoughtful clones if all you're going to do is reduce them down to mindless droids? Why not just make a droid army then? The clones keeping their individuality, and having their minds altered and controlled instead, makes far more sense.

The altered memories was a genius idea. It adds to those last few episodes of clone wars

(Clone wars spoiler alert) When the clones of the 322nd turned on Ashoka I knew that my childhood was about to be over. When I first witnessed order 66 in revenge of the sith it was brutal and vivid and will always be burned into my memory. But at the end of the clone wars, seeing the clones I had come to know, love and respect throughout my childhood be used like mindless puppets to kill their Jedi generals and friends, reduced me to a tears. This video is excellent portrayal of the most tragic deep and emotional event in all of Star Wars, good job.

I just realized a cool plot twist, what if that clone trooper who this guy thought was used as a shield 2:32 but was actually saved by the jedi survived until Order 66? Then after they kill the jedi and they're just chatting with each other, the clone realizes something is wrong because that guy was supposed to be dead but yet he executed Order 66 with him..? That's when they'd realize what happened

I always saw the idea that clones all just behaved like sheep and “following orders” and killed the Jedi which were their leaders for a long while, as a plot hole. This idea make it all make sense. It wasnt just an order, they were manipulated and brainwashed. Brilliant

Most of the Jedi saw the Clones as droids with squishy bits Leading to incompetency of so many levels Not to mention the Jedi not having any basic training in Warfare and negotiation Leaving also to billions of clones being killed they want to avenge their Brothers Anakin probably didn't treat them like crap because he was a slave for 9 years He knew what it was light and hated it

Which do you feel is more evil? A cybernetic chip did this or Palpatine through the use of the force over time to manipulate and brainwash the clones?
