For most of the humans I have met, a single 35mm round will generally reduce the usability of that human quite significantly. As for bigger targets, the odds do increase, however slightly, but with a cyclic rate in the thousands, even 1 in 5 will create significant amounts of scrap metal. As a combat veteran I have witnessed the effect of that nose gun and Sparky, you do not want to be on the receiving end of even a low hit percentage from it!

If the A10 pilots are being honest the aircraft will most likely hit a human with one out of every ten fired from the gau and the odds only slightly higher with a larger static target
