How far apart should trays be loaded for sterilization?

I am a independent Dental Service Technician. I concentrate most of my service to Human Health, Animal Health situations. I have been doing this for 23 years. What is your feeling about tabletop units that require the door be opened to facilitate the drying process?

Great question! If the sterilizer manufacturer recommends the practice in their instructions for use (IFU), then it is permissible.

14:05 are the items with the towels under them and over them considered unsterile if ran that way?

It's hard to say whether or not they are sterile. The results of the biological and chemical indicators would help us to have some confidence in whether or not the package is sterile. Those towels could possibly act as an unnecessary barrier to sterilant penetration and should be avoided. If towels are used like this, it is likely because there is another problem with the steam or the process that needs to be addressed. Great question!

My question is in reference as to where to put thepeel packs. Without real question, it does seem like the top shelf is always the best place. I noticed that the OEM IFU States to keep the rigid containers on the bottom and to not put anything but rigid items under rigid containers ( paraphrasing). AMMI says the same. In the final review notes, it said you should put the peel packs on top… Keyword should With that being said, peel packs could go on the second shelf providing you are very cognizant of what wrapped items you have above it. Meeting you should have lighter items above peel packs if you take that route. I do not think this is best practice as it could be very risky. However, I just wanted some clarification. Thank you .
