It keeps it cooler down low. the closer you are to the ceiling the hotter it gets. You would be surprised.

That's for air flow. Helps in summer keeping them cool an winter so they don't get stuffy.

why are they so dirty? I mean I realize they are cattle, but still, looks like they were sleeping in their own waste, is the area they were kept in clean? and YES I was raised around cattle, to me from the looks of the cattle, they were kept in a dirty pen, not trying to sound mean or rude I am honestly wondering so people PLEASE don't get snappy with me for asking
