This video shows how to go about the loading sequence using the loadicator basis the Pre-Stowage plans after the Voyage instructions are received onboard Bulk Carriers. The video is Part 7 of the series of 9 videos which will be released on the same topic covering different situations and voyages and will explain all the aspects of Cargo planning onboard Bulk Carriers.
This series aims to cover all three aspects -
1. Performing Deadweight Calculations
2. Tendering a Stowage Plan
3. Devising a Loading sequence.
This video teaches Step No 3 explained on the basis of Example no 2 Voyage (Aqaba - Gangavaram). Future videos will cover the other steps basis different voyage examples.

one of the finest videos about cargo loading and calculations , these videos can substitute any books that exists about how to proceed about cargo loading. coming to this video and loading sequence if we depart with 0.7 cm trim how one should manage trim and aft draft for the voyage till arrival port without getting down by head keeping in stability requirements ?

Glad you liked it. Share to help fellow mates. Cheers !!! Regarding the question about leaving the loadport at 70 cms of aft trim, please note the following - One should plan the stowage and distribution of cargo at the loadport in accordance with the limitations (if any) at the discharge port. In this case, where the limitation was at the discharge port Gangavaram (13.00 mtrs) we planned the stowage at Aqaba such that if we finish the loading at 70 cms trim by stern we shall be arriving Gangavaram even keel. However, it rarely happens that you arrive EXACTLY even keel. Note that if you have planned well and aware of the loadicator results accuracy, the TRIM will not be very much. The difference could be max +/- 5cms which is not very much.

Only one question remained to me NOT clear. Why you did not consider ballast pumps rate during loading. Loading rate is 2500 tph, first step takes 2 hours and we have to PO WBT 4(P/S) during this step. We have 2894 t in WBT 4(P/S) and it means that capacity of one ballast pump must be at least 750 tph) Sometimes during very fast loading we have to ask terminal in advance additional time for PO ballast like one of the loading steps )) Anyhow you did a great job! Appreciate! 😉

First of all, thank you for your informative video. I would like to learn why took the value of the air draft from No1 hatch cover but not from No7 while it is the closest part to the aft mast ?
@funnel2tunnel360
@funnel2tunnel360 3 жыл бұрын
Great point! The word Air draft has two meanings - First the distance from the waterline to the top of the aft mast and second meaning is distance from waterline to the top of hatch coaming. This second meaning of air draft is used when the vessel is in port because this distance is used by the terminal to assess how much distance is there in between the loader and the coaming and/or will the loader be able to reach the hold to load or discharge. So when we are alongside the berth we are considering air draft as distance from waterline to top of hatch coaming for the loading purpose. only the same air draft values are mentioned in the loading sequences form. We are taking air draft value at Hatch number 1 because it is the highest value of air draft value encountered in case the loader needs to shift to hatch no 1. Hope it clears!
@kocatasosman4662
@kocatasosman4662 2 жыл бұрын
@@funnel2tunnel360 Thank you, well explained, it is clear. But the loader is placed on the berth level and air draft is calculated from sea level to coaming. Then, it is the responsibility of the terminal to evaluate that difference ?
