2 powder dispensers, 1000 cases of 30'06.. damn I'm jealous.

AZHighDesert Just get a standard powder drop that you use by hand and you can drop that powder 4 times as fast with out the need for an electronic powder measure. Trust me I have both styles electric ones have there down sides also after loading you need to disassemble them and clean which takes lots of time and you can lose the small parts. The manual hand drop style comes apart in one minute blow some air through it and you are done!

Super nice case prep machine. I need to look into that. I just trimmed 150 - military 30-06, after primer swaging and re-sizing. My old hands didn't really like that. I have an RCBS case prep machine, while it helped having to do all 3 steps was a pain

Great video. Need that case trimmer. I also use and highly recommend Lee factory crimping dies.

It's a nice one, although a bit on the expensive side.

Those are pretty. I love the idea of 2 powder dispensers. I use an RCBS 1500, and I do occasionally wait a bit. Not much, but a second sounds awesome. Especially since I use it for 99% of my loads.
@FullLeadTaco7 жыл бұрын
+Loads of Bacon yeah, now I have 4 so I don't have to wait at all... Always a powder charge ready. Got a good deal on a couple of the lymans

Giraud makes a trimmer for your drill like "the worlds finest trimmer." It doesn't cost much more and it too does all 3 steps.
@FullLeadTaco7 жыл бұрын
yup, those are great if you are only doing one or two calibers. I'm a "caliber collector" of sorts, so it would cost me a whole lot more money to buy one of those per caliber that I reload for.
@FullLeadTaco7 жыл бұрын
but yeah, I should have mentioned that in the video so people would know there is a cheaper alternative that does the same thing.

After hand priming 100 cases of 9mm, my arm felt like i had popeye forearms. I quickly discovered being cheap when starting reloading almost caused me to swear off reloading. No one wants to buy my lightly used primer...I wonder why? I should have just put that money into the RCBS press priming arm in the first place. I can still feel when its primed and my arms do not look weird.
@FullLeadTaco6 жыл бұрын
Ha ha, but I love popeye forearms!

I use the RCBS/9460 and can't say enough good about it. You still have the FEEL of hand priming and you get half seats etc. I don't trust the priming function on my Pro Chucker 5 and half seating is common enough with this system.

Wait - so the trimmer does the chamfer AND deburring in one go?? I need one of those.... Also i'm loving that 1970's "alternative film" music, haha! Great video. Makes me want to start hand priming my single-stage loads.
@FullLeadTaco2 жыл бұрын
Yes it trims chamfers and deburrs all in one go

Why would you prime directly pointed at your face
@duffysgunsmithing25857 жыл бұрын
you should try a bullet like the 311299 (200gr) with 32-35 gr 4895. or same bullet with imr 3031 start at 28gr and work up just until the rifle cycles. remember both of these powders can easily be reduced down to 60% load density if not less.i believe the 4895 gave the best accuracy at around 34-35.
@FullLeadTaco7 жыл бұрын
you're shooting cast bullets in your garand?
@duffysgunsmithing25857 жыл бұрын
sure ive never had a problem with it or the sks and ak. that being said ive always used gaschecks even with powder coated bullets i semi autos however i do not believe it is necessary .as long as your bullets are sized properly lead in the gas cyl should never be a problem.i size .311-.312 in the garand and with coated bullets .310 should be fine.

@@FullLeadTaco those bullets do good in the 308 from my experience. I just wonder if they did good in a gas gun.
@zacharyroach19907 жыл бұрын
That seemed like a pretty conservative load for 30.06, do you get full fire form to the chamber with this load?
@FullLeadTaco7 жыл бұрын
+zachary roach with the Garands you have to watch the powder choice as well as the powder charge so you don't bend the op rod in the ol' Garand. I don't have the adjustable gas plug in mine. Yes, these loads are strong enough to fire form in the chamber.
