First time playing Dungon World. Everyone was caotic or evil eccept for the rogue, he was neutral.Everyone did their character individualy. The wizard took control over the zombie army. I, the warior dwarf, after a killing spree rode off on the druid mostly bear. The lizard blew up trying to take the rogue with him. Oh, the last guy discovered that the druid killed his mother.

This game seems particularly hard to GM since you basically have nothing to work with, narrative-wise, before the game starts. I'm really impressed by the way Adam drew out information during character creation and managed to make a really compelling one-shot story to bring these characters through.
@AdamKoebel5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Stead you don’t have to run it as off the cuff as I do! I just happen to like it that way. ☺️
@cammurabi5 жыл бұрын
The system is set up to give DM's really solid frameworks to work with, and it lays out the types of DM moves that you might use in different situations, so in a lot of ways it's a much more supportive environment for DM's. The section on DM'ing is widely seen as a really useful tool for DM's from all systems. Check it out.
@caretakerITA4 жыл бұрын
Ok, having done DM for it like 50+ times: it's more easy to master than any classic RPG (like D&D or alike). No, really. You go in without anything, you use what the player gives you in the chargen (IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO ASK THERE QUESTIONS following the class and race they select) plus follow the bonds part, and there's plenty of helping tools and guide on how to construct a long compan. No, really, it's a better system for a DM than anything else fantasy-based.

while I think yes,dungeon world has it's own flavor and nuisance, this is not different when you understand and you get carry in the process of doing the same in normal dnd. people usually think TTRPG character creation is just filling a sheet.. oh dear, it's really more than that EDIT : 1:12:21 in... is really Serge, a MTG judge not gonna say "merfolk" instead of "fish people"?
@qtheplatypus5 жыл бұрын

So...basically make the players do all the DM work, then? Seriously, he just sat there asking them what was going on.
@terrybeal22525 жыл бұрын
That's how DW is played. The players contribute to the world building and story. It's much more improvisational than D&D.
@mrmiffmiff3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's how Apocalypse World and a lot (though not all) of other games Powered by the Apocalypse work. This isn't to say the GM doesn't still have plenty of responsibility for the world, but the players have authority over things related to their characters. Some groups cross more lines than others.
@jamesfitzgerald16844 жыл бұрын

Weapons add tags, like piercing x or impact, but aside for that you can describe as you like your attacks without impacting your damage overall.

Man this game is awful. The complete betrayal of player agency due to not having anything in the world be static is almost as bad as in Bear World. Good performance from the crew, but jeez any game other than this would be better.
