@@rookiebear1124 The mg42 had three different bolts. Heavy, medium and light. The heavy bolt is the one they use in the game, the medium bolt gives you 1200 rpm. The lightweight bolt would give you 1500 rpm. So the rpm is perfectly accurate in the game.

I've used the M95 just to get that feeling in BF1. Just that german soldier with his rifle I thought, and now in BFV I use the same gun, once I unlock the 98 I will compare both to see wich ones the best. I used the 95 because of its fire rate but in BFV it feels reduced, if the Kar98k shoots just as fast I will use that instead.

It's odd that the MG42 doesn't get its historical fire rate until you use a specialization on it! It used a roller-locked bolt assembly which increased in rate of fire with each successive round fired. Meaning, it starts at 1000 RPM, and worked its way up to 1200 - 1500 rounds per minute after only a few rounds are fired. Must be for balance reasons.

Either use the transport to flank around the enemy or escort armoured vehicles for cover and when using such a tactic try to let the tanks punch through enemy front lines while you flank around or support the armour then try to accomplish a encirclement strategy. This is a hard one since it requires more coordination with your team and squadmates,if the concept is too hard to accomplish the Blitzkrieg tactic of just punching through the lines and gunning down enemies works as well.

Loadout- Pvt. Jackson (Saving Private Ryan) British Head- Stanley. Looks kinda similar to the actor at the time headgear - Hazardous Conditions. As it's the closest thing available currently to the American M1 Helmet. Torso- The Weatherman (in the second colour) Legs- The Highlander (in forth colour) Primary- Kar98K. As we don't have the M1903 in Battlefield V yet thought it's best to use the Kar98K which was seen in the movie. Sidearm- M1911. Melee- Scout Knife. Grenade- Frag. Gadget 1- Spotting Scope. To spot that sniper that is pinning down your squad. Gadget 2- AP Mine. No other gadget fits in with what Jackson used in the movie. You are Pvt. Jackson, you have survived storming the beaches at D-Day, killed a enemy sniper by shooting down his rifle scope and have killed a bunch of Germans while quoting your beloved bible. I've been waiting to suggest this loadout to you for a while, and after hearing that the next Battlefield game was in WW2 i knew it was time. Hopefully when the Americans get added you can revisit this loadout with the proper U.S equipment hope you enjoy

I hope they add the Browning .50 when the Americans join the war. I still remember watching a documentary years ago where they talked to veterans about their experiences. The allies described the MG42 as a roar, and were rightly afraid to be in it's area of effect, but the Browning was said to shake the ground when it fired and equally frightened the opposition.

I think something cool for a mechanic is if someone is kneeling in front of you you should be able to set up the mg42 on their shoulder, if the mechanic causes you to be unable to use your weapon you should get equal kills as the gunner using you as their set up. I dunno but I think it would be cool. Or if you are near a friendly machine gunner instead of an ammo pouch you should drop ammo belts or cans.

I was playing Grand Operations on Tobruk and I got into the Amtrak gun, set up on a ridge, and got like 30 kills by mowing down the enemy as they tried to get to the first objectives. MGs in this game are too damn fun.

Loadout: The German Officer MP40 with the chromed finish, and maybe gold engravings on one part of it. P-08 pistol. Medic pouches. Smoke grenade launcher. Smoke grenade. Canis Horribilis clothing. You are a German officer. Guide your teammates, stay behind the charges and pick off enemies with your MP40. Helps if you're squad leader, so you can call in reinforcements and make squad orders too. Be the top gunner of tanks as well.

Nice and it's sounds accurate. I was in the Austrian Army. And I was a MG gunner! We are using the MG 74 it's basically the MG 42. (It's an evolution) The gun was/is a beast. I will never forget the sound of it.

I’m so glad they did the MG34 and MG42 some justice in this game. In video games the 34 is vastly under appreciated and I’m glad it got some love in this one. Love the new MMG weapon class

I unlocked this beauty and the first map I got to use it on was Devastation. So I made myself at Home near the C flag on the organ up top in the church. I built some fotifications and made sure that everyone that tried to cap C had to regret this decision. That was the most fun I had defending a flag in BFV so far. That match ended with a 52/9 KD for me with a stock MG42, now imagine that number if I would have had 200 rounds more per belt ...

They need to fix the bipods, also id like to see the 50 round magazine as an option and then as you said, it should get a 100 round belt when you go for the 1200 rpm, since it empties the 50 rounds in under 2.5 seconds... Also, you should be MUCH more accurate when hipfiring, for the first two or three rounds, so you can actually have any kind of chance in a situation where you are forced to hipfire...

The 42 is a huge upgrade in pretty much every respect over the 34. You will immediately notice the ttk difference. Really fun to use, glad I grinded for it first. God they need to fix the bi-podding and proning though. Half my deaths are from either my bipod disengaging at the wrong time or involuntarily sliding forward while prone behind cover.

imo they should make it so you can ads with medium machine guns, but they have EXTREME and unpredictable recoil so you can’t spray, but you have to burst

I think the 100 round belt would be balanced because with light bolt the gun is like 5 rounds away from overheating after the 50 round belt.

That's a weird US infantry loadout, like, by the time the M1911 was adopted the Krag was well on it's way out after the M1903 was adopted, but a few did remain in rear guard use atleast up to WWI

My thought: I like that they made it so you had to play Support and MGs as a defensive player. For the time period that is a very realistic stance.

I see the rapid fire tree of specialization viable, since it increases the rate of fire from 981 to 1200 (insane) and the fact of having to play under cover constantly with this weapon makes easy to reload. If it's so bad for you, u can pick the 15% faster reload perk.

Repeat upon death. Story- "Things went sour since you wrote the news article about the foreign oppression leading to your family being captured yet you somehow managed to find one of the freedom fighting organisation in your local village. But they did not have enough weapons to give any to a recruit but the FP-45 and a simple message: "If you want something better, you'll need to get it yourself."

Two things: 1. I think the iron sights actually have more magnification (1.5x) than the AA(1.25x), but I agree that the AA are so much better. 2. I disagree with the defensive mindset with the MG42. Just like an actual machine gun, you have to get good at buddy rushes and sneaking behind enemy positions. I also like how it forces you to use the landscape to get an offensive edge. Just clocked in 82 kills on a round of frontline with this badboy, and most of that was purely offensive. The key is to control your bursts, know when to get your head down, and give all of your targets their fair share of brass!

How about a Resistance loadout? Liberator Pistol and a knife is all you get to use until you kill an enemy and take their weapon, like a French Resistance fighter may have had to do.

I’m currently grinding our the Support class just to get the weapon. I’m currently a quarter away from getting rank 16/20. I just got the KAR98K for Recon. Can’t wait for this gun!!
