What Mr. Anand Srinivasan is absolutely correct. I hate the Celebrities to influence people to sell their gold through advertisement. I also hate the advice of the government not to buy gold. The only safest investment or safeguard against financial crisis is gold alone. I would advise to buy real gold and not paper gold considering the credentials of the people who promote paper gold. Next is landed property. Try buying good land, keep it even in difficult times it will be useful anytime in future. Never sell your landed property or gold to North Indians. I request our Tamil people to safeguard yourselves against intruders. So long as government do not guarantee the people for their decent living and do not provide social security, it should not tax the people on their hard earned or saved gold or landed property when they sell. Free the common people from unnecessary controls such as restrictions in cash transactions. That alone can revive the economy and not the write off of lakhs of crores of rupees of loans availed by Corporates under NPA. Write off of NPA is the greatest threat to the survival of banks and ultimately the people. I don't understand why the opposition except Mr. Rahul are silent.

And compare the same performance of that to a decent mutual fund for the last 20 years. There are much better investment options compared to Gold. If you need Jewel for lifestyle and have money, go ahead and buy it. Nothing wrong in it. But, for investment, a big NO. Gold for investment purpose is a legacy thinking.
