I got a Jazzmaster Baritone, an Ibanez MMM1 and a PRS Mike Mushok. Out of all of them the PRS is my favorite. But it’s scale isn’t long enough to tune down to E and further like Loathe. That’s where the Jazzmaster, SubZero and Gretsch shine. Cos of their long scale length they can go super low. I’ve taken my Jazzmaster all the way down to B0 with some thick strings.

probably using filtertrons so it still has really good string clarity on lower tunings while still being HBs so you don't get BZZZ when you crank the game. pretty smart. Generally for heavy stuff you want big HBs for D/E maybe C tuning and anything below you want more clarity, so brighter pickups can really work for that, you're kind of balancing out the low end basically, higher tunings = more oomph from the pickup, lower = more clarity. Reason why these guys used a JM for so long.
