Hi Ashley, if you clean up your parts you will get relief from the pain. By not maintaining your parts you have hairs growing in other locs causing pulling. Also, the lose hairs are hairs growing away from your locs as a result causing thinning. You can carefully fix yourself. I would just take the lose hairs and 2 strand twist them around the closest loc or have a good loctician fix them for you. Be careful I've heard some horror stories about some locticians. Also be careful with using crochet hook. That can damage locs and make them weak. Once you clean up your parts should resolve problems in back also. I would not cut them. Your locs are beautiful and they make you look regal. Hang in there and handle your babies with lots of love. Good luck

Btw; your hair is not thin at all; just fine textured, but your hair looks great. I also have fine hair and my hair grows away from the loc. Personally, I just braid the loose hair around the loc and twist the remaining hairs around the loc. I don’t use oils, cause some cause itching and dryness. I like the wilder look. I believe in separating my locs but not necessarily the scalpy look. In conclusion; be patient and enjoy the journey. Fine hair takes a little more patience. If anything, just have him fix the back or sensitive areas. Also, don’t retwist much. 👌Subscribed!

@@blu_rey8656 thank you for this! What do you use instead of oils? I’ve started to twist the hair around my locs and have seen some improvement!!

I have a few hairs that are growing away from the locs too. I just wrap the around the closest loc, but only after I shampoo my hair. Your locs are flourishing!

This is my first set of locs as well. I think we just learn our hair as we go. I thought it was a good idea to interlock my locs last year, and now today I'm like that was done. I try to be verbal that I'm not an influencer as a disclaimer. I'm just recording what I'm doing and showing yall what I'm doing 😂. I was so thirsty to start my locs on my relaxed hair. I put rubber bands on the ends, lol. That seemed to help, lol. I don't style my locs either. I have fine hair as well. Enjoy your video. I subscribed to see what you go do 😁

Hahah yes it’s definitely trial and error and learn as you go 🤣 I feel like I’m just starting to learn what my hair likes and doesn’t like! I’ve been through so many different wash routines just trying to find the right combo! But that’s why they call it a journey right! Lol

Yes I agree with Debra in that if you cleaned up your parts and direct the hair to it's "assigned loc" the pain will absolutely stop. I experience the same thing if I don't "pop" my locs or direct the hair. And it does just seem you have some hair that grows away from the loc which is normal for many. I have the same iss ue along my hairline where my texture is much softer.

Thank you Keesha! I’m happy to hear that it’s normal and not something I’ve done wrong!! I’m going to clean up my parts and see if the pain goes away! ✨
