I’ve had my locs for 5 years and I experienced so much breakage from bleaching my hair 😭😭 I have it healthy now it took almost a year but I stayed consistent and I got rid of the lose ends and now my hair is thriving at bra strap length

Hey, love! It’s me, Hope, from IG :) I took my other social media down for awhile. Anywho, how long do you normally space your retwists? Was that the 4 months you mentioned? I need to wash more but I’ve not known what to do with it after I wash cause I don’t want to retwist every time I wash. I will try this me this though of braiding.

Hi Beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m happy to have you here!! Thank you for the love and support!! I truly appreciate it!! I normally go between 3-4 months to retwist my locs. 4 months is normally the max for me. This time around I over extended it to 6 months to see what would happen and learn how to manage my new growth. I wash twice a month. After I wash and condition, I oil my scalp and locs for a hot oil steam treatment. That hot oil treatment softens my curls a lot and I can easily separate them. Then I braid them to make sure they stay separated at the root and I get a curly style a week after I take the braids down. I get two styles in one before my next wash!! 😆❤️ If I don’t braid my locs, I separate them and make sure I oil my scalp, then let it air dry, and tie it down. They usually won’t vigorously stick together after a wash and separation. I hope this helps! ❤️

Did you really do a retwist before you braided your hair or you just comb the new growth and then braided it?
