16 hours? I took an 8 hour course and we learned all we needed to know about a gun and laws in less than 3 hours. We spent the rest of the day practicing for the final shooting test. It was especially boring since I am a veteran and had already had weapons training.

No doubt New York state is in violation of the second but the right to carry needs to be enforced but with a license that that gives you the right to carry and does not prevent you from legally getting a gun. I do not believe in the unrestricted right to carry without any licensing. You need a license to drive so you should be able to get a license to carry with background checks. Social media is called free speech and its protected so that is nonsense using social media as a criterion to carry. I hope the right tp carry passes New York, especially New York City. with a large minority population.

There area pros and cons with regards to requiring social media access. Access would allow the government to screen for signs of mental/emotional instability or violent intentions. The cons is that it is an invasion of privacy and subject to potentially serious abuse.
