Mine was only 8hrs but then again i got my license in 2017 renewed it in 2022 right before the hocul bs started.....i definitely will be leaving here soon this is ridiculous how law abiding citizens are being made a example of while crime is treated like legal actions smmfh!!!!!

16 hours? I took an 8 hour course and we learned all we needed to know about a gun and laws in less than 3 hours. We spent the rest of the day practicing for the final shooting test. It was especially boring since I am a veteran and had already had weapons training.

If someone breaks down your door cause they are trying not to get mauled by the bear outside, you cant shoot them. No doubt New York state is in violation of the second but the right to carry needs to be enforced but with a license that that gives you the right to carry and does not prevent you from legally getting a gun. I do not believe in the unrestricted right to carry without any licensing. You need a license to drive so you should be able to get a license to carry with background checks. Social media is called free speech and its protected so that is nonsense using social media as a criterion to carry. I hope the right tp carry passes New York, especially New York City. with a large minority population.

There area pros and cons with regards to requiring social media access. Access would allow the government to screen for signs of mental/emotional instability or violent intentions. The cons is that it is an invasion of privacy and subject to potentially serious abuse.
