🇲🇲 Local Bus From Yangon to Mandalay Myanmar

In this video we take the long 9 hour journey from Yangon in the south of Myanmar (the capital) to Mandalay in the north. We booked with a company called 12GoAsia (link above) and the bus was a JJ Express. There was a bit of an issue once we arrived in Mandalay, but otherwise the trip was pretty easy to do on your own!

Tempura seaweed sounds amazing 😋😋 We had exactly the same thing happen to us on a coach trip...a posh group turned up and it turned out they had sold our seats as well...we refused to move ...it was a nightmare🙄🙄🙄 But the food looked amazing when you finally got to Mandalay...and you can’t beat a roof top bar 👍👍👍🐝

Next time, you should try with the Elite express V.I.P class. There are only 15 passenger in a whole car, but mostly not reach to this number even in high season. It just $12 to $13 for each.

It's always amazing how they build places way back. 😎Once again sorry to hear about your family Holly. Now I understand that Nerve damage can take a few moths to a year. Mine is under my arm and shoulder blade. During the winter will use the front bedroom as storage what I will move. More homes are for sake on my street. So many tenants , etc don't carry Insurance. Glad I do. Timmins Taxes sent me a Letter as during my Shingles forgot to pay 2 months so called and have to pay $150 a month to catch up. Have a great day. Cheers.!

A long time ago, my father got shingles internally in his chest, he had it for years and could hardly move or ride in a car. Shingles can be brutal. I'm so sorry you are still dealing with that. Mandalay ended up being one of our favourite cities in Asia (and the world really). Along side Kaohsiung, Nagano and Hoi An!

9 hours bus ride !!!😱 Sooo much stuff in s.e Asia is super sweet especially if it’s prepackaged. All the endless kinds of prepackaged little individual “coffee” here are.... almost all sugar....the bus fuckery story is funny and that kind of fuckery is super common...I would have been livid !...I've had a bunch of random bus switches here and in myanmar... (luckily I rarely have taken long trips like that) Also had "Does this V.I.P bus have a bathroom?", and it does and then they switched to a bus that doesn't have A.C or bathroom early in the trip, ...had the waiting for the bus switch take longer than the trip ....the worst is when they just straight up lie and the bus doesn't have a bathroom...in Laos at least "V.I.P" bus has lost all meaning...all tourist buses say "V.I.P" :).

Condensed milk is the devil haaa! I hate sweet stuff so much! In hindsight, we should have just got a tuk tuk into the city, or walked. Rookie traveller mistake! That really is just the way of transport there.... inconsistent and pretty unreliable but mostly just annoying, not dangerous

Life is sucks in Myanmar, right now. My business is up-in-air because of Military Dictators. Of course, I'm fighting back, so please you guys, great express services awaits you in future from Myanmar. Not all bus services are annoying. :)

We would love to visit Myanmar again in the future! I'm really hoping that things in Myanmar can change, I can only imagine how difficult is it to live there right now. I really am sorry for what you have to deal with there. When it is safer to travel back, we will definitely come! Stay safe!
