Thanks Aaron, this is precisely what I needed to know, but have tried and failed before to work out. As a hobbyist, I design all sorts of engineering related stuff. To have a collection of nuts, bolts, screws, washers, etc would be a God send. Thank you so much.

Thanks Aaron - nice presentation and very useful. Just one thing I would like to see (maybe it is possible somehow, but I haven't found it yet) is how to multi-select components and transfer them into a local collection, without having to do it one by one. I'm using Windows and have not been able to make any combination of keys allow multiple selection. Also, as an unrelated comment, you always say we will get notified of these videos, if you have subscribed. I've subscribed months ago and never get a notification of anything new ... Maybe worth checking in your back office why that might be ...

I have 3,505 custom architectural profiles originally drawn in AutoCAD (Crowns, Sills, Casings, etc.) and would like to know if there is any difference in saving (or storing) the file as a component or to save it using Profile Builder 3? Would one have an advantage over the other?

Agree, Aaron, great stuff as usual.. Question for you though, I see you are working in Sketchup Pro (2021!), sorry brand new user trying to understand reusable components. What you show in this video is it also available in Sketchup GO? Thanks, Grant

Hi Grant, good question! The Components Browser works a bit differently outside of the desktop version. For Go subscribers, you can collect reusable Components in a Trimble Connect (cloud storage) folder or a local folder on your device. Then you can import them as you need. You could also make a template that contains all your commonly used Components so they're right there from the start of your project. Happy sketching!

2:19 I'm on Windows and I don't have a separate choice for creating a new collection. I get to "open or create a new collection". And when I click, it's telling me it doesn't exist. 😒 3:39 And when I try this, I'm afraid to just click "new folder" because I don't want to mess with the official SU stuff. I think you need to redo this vid and add the Windows interface version. ...or maybe it's a different problem...
