Local Musician - Khalid Moss

When I was in elementary he use to come and play with us on our concerts. We were good because we had professionals playing with us. Jj Yates played the drums and Tumust Allison was our elementary band director.

i remember Khalid Moss at a great little jazz club called Gilly's in Dayton, Ohio. he was playing at the time between 'name' acts or perhaps during week nights. his solo playing struck me as being very heavy and interesting, though it seemed that he was being almost completely ignored by most of the audience. years later i was watching a television broadcast of a Betty Carter concert. the rhythm section was extremely hip, and i recognized the pianist, Khalid Moss! his talent was finally recognized!
