ADR & Maharashtra Election Watch organised the 16th Annual National Conference on Electoral & Political Reforms on 15th and 16th July 2023. We hold this annual event in a different state capital every year. This time, we held it at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in Pune, Maharashtra.

Day 1 Session 4: The session on "Local & Urban Governance" was organised on 15th July 2023. The focus areas of this session were:
- Increasing influence of money and muscle power in Panchayat/ULBs elections and its impact on governance
- Community mobilisation and participation in the decision-making process
- Role of CSOs & People’s movements in strengthening electoral politics and local governance
- Experience sharing/case studies and suggested reforms
