You look beautiful from starter, baby, maturing locs, to locks all down your back. Honey, you were made for locs. I like your hair straight, but when you chopped to your natural hair, MY GAWD!, that was the best move yet. I can't describe how it made you even more beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journey. It is great to see your beginnings because I met you at BAM! You still hold my favorite set of locs.

I absolutely love your locs, Loc Crush. My name is Susanne and l am from the UK. I had locs for seven years and l had to cut them October 2014 unfortunately due to the death of my mother January 2014 as my locs were and are for spiritual and natural purposes, but l started my new locs (all by myself this time) January 2015. I sympathise with the scalp condition that you have and whilst l don't really know much about it, l was wondering if l could make a suggestion for you to use Moroccan Black Soap to wash your locs with which is what l use, as the Head & Shoulders stuff (as l am sure you can appreciate) are all chemical laden. I love your Rosewater and coconut oil method as they are natural and l have decided to use the same method from now on as l believe keeping things simple is best. I only recently discovered Rose Water 2014 and l thought it was for skin use only but thanks to you, l know l can use it in my locs also, thanks for sharing great tutorials Loc Crush.

Beautiful journey!!!! I have a question I started my sons locs and it's hard for him to keep the starter locs twisted in some areas. What did you put on your head when you went to bed? And what products do you use to re-twist? I'm natural so I do use the flaxseed gel on my hair but would it be too much (thick) for starter locs?
@LocCrush9 жыл бұрын
Starter locs will unravel. Tie down at night with a silk or satin scarf/sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. I use flaxseed gel to retwist; it works differently on each person depending on your hair texture.

Love your locs! I've been trying to decide whether I will take the plunge. I am currently natural and have had sisterlocs previously but have been thinking about trying traditional loc. Is your loctician someone that you would refer to others (providing of course he/she is in my area)
@LocCrush9 жыл бұрын
I maintain them myself and visit professionals on occasion. Where are you located?
@SCurlGirl179 жыл бұрын
I am located in NJ. I had sisterlocs when I was pregnant with my daughter but it became to much work maintenance wise with a newborn/toddler. I never was the type to just walk into a salon without being referred by someone whose hair looks good!

so you started off with finger coils? And would it be possible for me to show a loctician your hair when I first start and they'd know how to do it?
@LocCrush8 жыл бұрын
Yes, comb coils. It's a common technique for starting locs, so a loctician should be familiar with it

@boobookittie8447 жыл бұрын
Did you wash your hair in the beginning at all...only reason of inquiry is because your locs never unraveled...they stayed in nice coils....mine have dropped

How did you manage your SB with your starter locs? I'm very interested in starting my locs but the flaking from my SB and the build up is really deterring me.
