Loch Moidart Part1

This latest box set will cover one of my favourite areas on the West of Scotland ...the Arisaig Area. It starts with my last boat trip of this year until the Lockdown lifts. To help pass the days of staying at home I hope to include some walks in the area as well as some boating trips from April last year which I never got round to editing. Yup..and its very reliable ..its never seen a mechanic since I bought it and its done around 500 hours running time..mostly at full throttle. Its easy enough for me to service it myself

Thank you for mentioning us. I recognised all the places we visited on what were two of the best days of my life! Life as a nurse at the moment is unimaginable by anyone other than nhs staff. I go to work with fear and dread. Then I fear taking the virus home! Unlikely to get to Scotland anytime soon so keep your amazing videos coming. Stay safe Donny. Xxx

Cazzy ..believe me .. you have my deepest sympathy and I can only imagine the kind of thoughts that go through your (and all NHS workers) mind. When you get through this I hope you can find a way to have a long break from the terrible stress and strains of your much needed and very much appreciated work ..perhaps even reward yourself with an extended boating holiday...or retire and follow your dreams for a few years. I retired early ..because I could no longer handle the stress..and my work was nothing like you guys are facing. Stay safe yourself and take care

Hi Dennis ..yup the NHS staff are my heroes Dennis ..not only in this terrible time.. but they also treated me a couple of years back for a faulty liver. I also agree that we will be able to go boating again and although I miss it terribly..I will appreciate it even more when I can go again :-D

I watched this back to front but still very enjoyable. Another question for you Donny, I don’t know how many videos of yours I’ve watched it must be between 70 and 100. Is it your wide angle GoPro or does Doug always stay far away from the back of you as possible? I thought about this so many times and always come up with it’s the GoPro lol. Hi Pink Inc Cafe ..yup..quite a few videos pass "Deer Island" in loch Moidart ..try for example this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGi7iJh7nrtrmbM (loch Moidart Part 2) and Im running along its length at 5.25 minutes into the video. Its a lovely Island. Are you thinking of buying it ? Its just been put on the market for around 80K ..I noticed it as Im looking for a house in the area but no interest in the island. The Estate agent has taken a photo of my brothers off his web site to advertise it..its the one with the kayak. Any info I can assist you with on the area..just yell

Its Deer Island all the way to 6.19 sec when I go to a small island of the north eastern end. The loch is quite shallow round the island ..although there is a deep water hole near Castle Tiorum were the yachts go for a shelter mooring. Sea eagles regularly nest in the area ..just some useless info :-D

Hi again..just one last bit of useless info..I went back to have a look at the estate agent advert. Beware..I dont think they know what they are advertising ? Half the photos are of Eilean Ceann Feidh ..which it a totally different island in Loch Nam Uamh which is several miles to the north of Loch Moidart and Loch Ailort..yet the description is of the one in Loch Moidart. Sorry if Im confusing things ..its not my intention..just pointing out some things as I know the area quite well
