Game description:
Lock 'n' Chase is an arcade action game similar to Pac-Man. You play a thief who is trapped in a maze like vault. To get out, you need to collect all of the gold dots located in the maze. Your task won't be easy, since there are four police officers in the vault who are constantly trying to catch you! Located throughout the maze are numerous doors. As you run through the maze, you have the ability to temporarily close a door in an attempt to block the police. You can only close two doors at a time, and any closed doors automatically open again after a short amount of time. When all of the gold in the maze has been collected, the exit to the vault will open and you can escape and move on to the next, more difficult vault. Occasionally a bonus item will appear in the maze, such as a cash bag, crown, or briefcase, which can be collected to earn even more points.

I used to play this back in the day when I was 7 in 1985 I knew then that It was a Pac-Man rip off but I didn't care I played this for hours me and brothers my favorite part was locking in those cops lol! Lock-n-Chase rocks!

I really don't see it as a rip off. Think of all the RPG or Open World games etc that could be called ripoffs. But nobody ever calls them that. It should be just another style of game at this point.

Great game. 1982! I remember well the game defect where you could enter the walls and collect endless points. Cops couldn't touch you either.

This brings back a lot of memories. I had this game on the intellivision system. I was a pac man fan and found it close , but a little more challenging than pac man. No energizers

This was featured in a commercial comparing it to the 2600 version of Pac-Man. Apparently, the arcade's owner was worried this game would put him out of business. I'd say his arcade was in good standing for at least another decade or two.

Anyone remember the glitch in the game where if you pushed up going through the side of the maze you would get stuck on the outside of the maze kind of halfway in the blue and your score would just keep going up?

Looks much better than the M Network game. Nobody says "I don't give a damn about this project" quite like an M Network game designer. I imagine they toiled away at these while chained to their desks.

Ya knwo I beat this game? Count the pellets, 18 pellets is the first way you get the bonus. So I think the bonus works on 18.

I used to have fun locking one or more cops in one of the corners that would buy me the time I needed to finish getting the gold piece and getting the other little goodies along the way like the key etc....

A lot of people miss this trick of trapping the cops in the corners it seems, or simply don't know about it. Love this game.

The controller disc could not handle this game. It always missed the turns.

I found I had to enter the turns about half a step before I got to them to guarantee it would do it. The emulator does the same thing sadly.

Ebay, unless your mother doesn't mind playing this on an emulator - then I recommend Nostalgia, as it is probably the easiest to set up.

Yes and no. Rules are quite a bit different, and you had gates to lock up the guards instead of power pills to eat the ghosts. The dollar sign in the middle was the big bonus points, only way to get a big score (but was heavily guarded). They also had occasional bonus icons, like fruit, diamonds, etc, similar to Ms. Pac Man, I believe.

Don’t ever but for pretense like this video game! I mean don’t do this in real life! This game I think I should protest against but that’s up to you to decide not me! I don’t play this game but I’m sure you will so I won’t try to stop you! That’s not what I do! It’s not my job! So heed my advice and enjoy it in pretense and not real life! I won’t tell you why though! Find that out for yourself and you’ll see my meaning! But like I said and since it isn’t my job I can’t stop you and i won’t prophetically! Sorry!
