What’s the name of the pick set you’re using? Both Amazon links in your description have been removed. I noticed that Amazon seems to be removing lock picking tools from their website.

You're mainly correct, however serrated driver pins do not effect impressioning at all. When the key blank is inserted, all driver pins are pushed into the bible, and only the key pins are across the shearline to impression. Fancy key pins with serrations, grooves, etc, etc, actually help impressioning by gripping the key pins more tightly at the shearline, thus transferring better marks to the key blank. All the factory made security pins, or home made security pins, can and do make SPPing more difficult, but will in fact help to impression a key. Regards, Brian.
