It would be very nice if your videos were organized in such a way so that it's divided it into two parts: one where you explain what it is you are doing and why you are doing it, and the other part where you actually do it and then have them timestamped. I come back to many of your videos weeks or months later to either adjust something or redo the optimizations after a fresh windows install, and each time I have to seep through the entire 30+ minute long video to find the 5 minutes that I need. One of the many reasons to buy Nvidia is that it generally just works. It's not as much of a minefield as AMD, where you have to pay super close attention to which driver you install, that the card actually clocks like it's supposed to, it has a good encoder that integrates flawlessly with every software out there etc.

There have been several instances where Chris recommended older Nvidia drivers because they performed better, and you also have to go through quite a process to debloat your NVidia drivers which is much simpler on AMD. Nvidia drivers are without a doubt less buggy, but if you want best performance you're still going have to put in some time and pay attention. Ultimately both AMD and NVidia "just work". You can install standard drivers, on a stock Windows install, and you'll rarely have issues either way. This whole argument is kind of nonsense. If you wanna get the most out of your system you'll have to put in some time regardless of your hardware, and if you don't like that just stick to stock settings.

There is mistake in video. GPU clock frequency in MSI Afterburner is not the "real" clock. There is clock stretching (like on AMD Ryzens) then you set it in MCT or AMD software. HWINFO can show "effective" clock for processor and GPU, that reported by internal hardware sensors. If real GPU clock goes up, then tepms and power draw also goes up.

So for the people that have some issues even after this. Turn off everything with amd boost and frame generation. You want to undervol the card to 1175mv you can try 1150 but some people I've read are having problems going this low. 1175 is what worked for my xfx 6750xt. Max boost clock is 2752 and min is 2652 I do believe. It has a slight overclock. Might be off a few ticks as I'm not by my pc. I then turned off adrenaline overlay. Everything runs like butter even with the bloat driver. You can close out msi afterburner and the adrenaline and run games like ghost of tsushima 1440p max settings solid 60 with vsync. No frame generation. Very impressed as I went from a 1080ti Duke oc that I've tweaked and overclocked since 2020 and I've gained some 30-40 or more fps in all games without stutters. I usually lock it at 60hz as I have a weak monitor atm and nothing stutters at all.

I had this problem when playing Battlefield at low settings. I would try to lock the boost clock in the driver OC options and it still wouldn't boost properly. Tried multiple drivers, playing with drivers settings for days. Just a waste of time overall. There was horrendous microstutter because card was below 1000MHz in-game most of the time. My older card which had about half the overall performance actually felt smoother despite lower fps. I returned the 6900XT next week and got an Nvidia card instead which worked as advertised out of the box. AMD software is a joke, never again. Nobody should have to go through this stuff and third party software just to get the card to do BASIC functions. I don't know if this tool existed back then, this was last year. But still, no one should have to worry about this stuff to get stock performance out of a $1000 card.

Hello everyone, sorry for the long answer, I'm from Ukraine, and u know, currently, we do have not the best times. Long story short, I was able to solve this problem with MSIAfterburner. 1. First u need to set your Frequency & Voltage and apply settings, (currently I'm using 2000MHz/1050mV profile); 2. Then go to the voltage curve editor, and raise up all sliders(frequency & voltage). Visually it should look like two straight lines, In my case with these steps 2.1. Frequency 1893->1946->2000 2.2 Voltage 1004->1004->1050. 3. Then save your profile again, and apply to startup. So the main idea is to set basic Frequency & Voltage, then play with the curve, and save the profile. Peace for all

Also how can you cap your FPS without using MSI Afterburner on WZ I use it to cap FPS to 265 on my 270hz monitor and I don't want my gpu pointlessly going over that it does in some areas.

Msi to cap frame rate? Are you sure you’re not using rivatuner?
@Pacify2 жыл бұрын
@@SqwashGaming yes riva tuner only runs when msi afterburner is running for me unless there is a way to only run riva tuner which I didn’t know.
