I don't know but we had a few months of breathing significantly fresher air due to mines shutdown in my area here in South Africa

Truth is, we have literally no idea what the result of this will be, a warmer planet, is better for life on earth, but only within a certain range. The earth has had much higher carbon levels and was fine, it even came back after extinction events that had reduced plant life. The suns natural cycles and continuous increase in light/heat output likely has more effect on temps than humans. Eventually the earth will die, but it will likely long outlive humans.

In Jurassic period the co2 levels where 5x higher and o2 where much higher methane levels where much higher but not as high as some politicians pump out The planet was tropical with moderate poles

It is true that in the earth geologic past levels have been over 2100 PPM, but then again this was almost always in response to a mass extinction so...

There are several bigger and smaller cycles, yes. And like JG said, carbon levels were a lot higher millions of years ago, but we were on a downwards trend before 1820. Temperatures are spiking again, which a MUCH smaller timewindow than the natural cycle while it should've been going down.

"In Jurassic period the co2 levels where 5x higher and o2 where much higher methane levels where much higher but not as high as some politicians pump out The planet was tropical with moderate poles" The planet wasn't just "tropical! .... it was an entirely different biosphere, that arranged itself around the atmospherical circumstances over millions of years. It also was a biosphere, that was not sabotaged by crazed monkeys.

What is the effect of agriculture farming? The repeated concentrated planting of oxygen producing plants? Farmland produces oxygen not counted in any studies that I have seen. Soybeans, corn, alfalfa, potatoes, hundreds of vegetables and they continuously get planted and harvested in high numbers.
@merlinkater77564 жыл бұрын
Good question. I only hear about the terrors of the meat industry, wich is also very eco unfriendly. But plant farming i never hear about. It is an interesting topic. Because i can imagine companies would like to create plants that can absorb more co2 than normal making them grow faster and bigger.
