By far the most interesting part of the movie for me was Lockdown, a menacing, ruthless bounty hunter that, until he became far less compelling and more boring halfway through, was a true force to be reckoned with. Jablonksy created one of my favorite modern villain themes, using sirens, electronic thumps, and everything else at his disposal to evoke how terrifying and domineering Lockdown is.

He wasn't playing around, he wasn't screaming at his incompetent second in command or relying on another bigger villain; he meant business, was cold and to the point and gave optimus one hell of a fight till the end.

Too be fair, it just depends on who's hiring him or which side has the bigger price. The autobots could hand him a couple of space money and he'd be more then down to be a good guy for a specified amount of time hunting deceptions. Unfortunately the Decepticons and the Quintessons are the one hiring him in basically every incarnation.

If I could wish to have the skills, aura, and demeanor of any single cybertronian, It’s gonna go to lockdown. The next closest two would be Ratchet and Prime. Lockdown has a threatening presence, and has gained reputation for his work, and is completely ruthless in his work. He is a machine through and through, and that’s what makes him so terrifying. He gave no care nor did he show remorse. A soldier, a mercenary to the finest definition. Prime, not because of his strength, but his leadership and his charisma. Motivation to make fighting continue in the light of good, and to keep morale and the spirit high, even in darkest times through conflict. Ratchet, kind and caring through and through. Willing to die for his loyalty to the cause and his allies, and show mercy until he is entirely forced not to.
