I said yesterday and I will say it again: no big deal! This game is a reminder that things can go wrong, and this team has things to work on. Defensively a lot went wrong, but some things still went right. On offense, a lot went wrong, but some things still looked pretty promising. I think that this game really exposed the Bills injuries and thinness, not because Baltimore was necessarily a better team, but because they are a bigger team. Despite that, take away the stupid 85 yard touchdown run, and this game wasn't a total defensive failure. Biggest problem was that the Bills started to get it together for a comeback, but the trick play disaster put the Baltimore crowd right back in the game AND led to another 7 points. We will get it together, couple of defensive stars coming back soon, it'll be okay. On to Houston!

For a team that is known for their dominate border line god tier run game, I’m so upset that they didn’t adjust to that defensively. When have the ravens not been a top tier run game even before Derick got there? Even when they faced the bengals two seasons ago without Lamar in the playoffs they still had the best run game in the league. Learn to adapt . I’m not saying the bills defensive scheme isn’t useful. But boy oh boy are the bills too damn predictable. The offense finally are an unpredictable side of the ball. Defense needs to follow. Thanks for the episode, Joe!!
@moose_tracks41Ай бұрын
Henry on the Titans and Taylor and the Colts and the run-happy Eagles were recent big losses/blowouts for the Bills. Now this one. The Bills defense is smaller, so to win up front you have to have consistent coverage in the gaps and quick attack to the ball. They’ve successfully contained Lamar and stopped Henry (when he was a Titan) in the past, but the risk is big if the front seven struggles to hit the gaps and stop the RB before he gets steam. The Ravens played with more intensity and physicality. Plain and simple. First half was putrid! But in the second half, the Bills defense got some stops! They even caused some negative plays and possible turnovers in clutch situations. The offense started to show life in the second half when they rushed with Cook for awhile. Then the trick play f***** all that up. It was a pivotal moment because Buffalo was digging itself out of a hole and had an opportunity there to go up to 17-21. That would’ve energized the team and stifled the crowd a bit…but that opportunity was lost. Coleman bounced back from an early big, disappointing drop. Carter (#90) made a solid stop in the red zone. Spector tracked Lamar and got the Bills’ only sack on the night. It’ll be okay. This team had a lot of changes going into this season, and straight up I expected this team to have a tough growth phase in the first 8 weeks. There are many lessons to be learned here and because of Mcdermott’s history I’m 100% confident the team will address issues immediately. It takes time for these guys to jel, too, and the schedule is unforgiving, so give this team grace and patience. It’ll be fine. GO BILLS 🔵🔴

I don’t get being that stubborn with running the nickel. Taron Johnson is out and so is your two best lb’s. You have the largest and best rb in recent years running up your a$$. Lamar is average at throwing. Put another lb on the field and stuff the run. Force 3rd and longs and make Lamar win it. Bad game plan.
@SteveLewczykАй бұрын
The trick play did it for me. It showed me how out of touch and desperate our coaching staff was all night long. If i could give McDermott, Brady and Babich a grade, it would be F+.
@bobkrause6114Ай бұрын
Undo criticism of Brady for the trick play that backfired, imo. Consider we just had 3 3&outs sandwiched around 2 Raven scoring drives, which is exactly text book for how Baltimore plays and wins. Brady attempted an unforeseen wrinkle which, had it been successful, would likely have resulted in a TD very soon. It would have swung the game back in our favor with plenty of time still left in the game. It failed and now Brady is the idiot. Such is life in the NFL today..
@RyanDavis-v2zАй бұрын
@@bobkrause6114 it wasn’t the time for it. If it were under 10 minutes in the 4th and we were down by three and had a lot going for us. It would make sense. Where and when that play happened was premature and silly.
@peterwilson4865Ай бұрын
It was really stupid. They were driving to make it a 1 score game and had all the momentum. Keep your defense off the field and keep the momentum on your side.
@staceylee7957Ай бұрын
I totally disagree. They had made 2 defensive stops and had scored a TD, they were driving with what they were doing, they had momentum. Ridiculous play.

What happened to all the pre snap motion we saw in the first few games. We need some of that back.
@adammaurer6271Ай бұрын
I guess I'm in the minority here, because I didn't get that upset about the trick play. Ravens were crowding the line of scrimmage and seemed to clog everything up within 10 yards. Bills were not able to stretch the field much, partly because the O-line couldn't hold up long enough. Maybe a trick play confuses the defense long enough to give Josh a chance downfield. Not a terrible idea in my mind. Let's not let the outcome skew our perspective.
@johnmarlow7959Ай бұрын
I agree Joe, I said on Dan Mitchell show all week, take the run away from lamar and henry and force lamar to win in the air and if they beat bills they beat them, but bills allowed runs so big and then it got their passes going to and it was a disaster

For more than one game the following have been MIA: Taylor Rapp (head injury) and Damar Hamlin, Bill's receivers (excluding Shakir, but not Shakira). The Bills defense was blocked man for man.
@chap102401Ай бұрын
As some one who has coached football for 15 years don't blame defensive game plan, blame execution. Lots of missed tackles, specifically the first one. Cam Lewis was Terrible, Spector got stuck on blocks 3-4 yds deep. They started blitzing because guys weren't executing. Now I wasn't thrilled with the offensive game plan and again execution was a problem specifically not getting positive yards consistently on 1st down. But all this is with out the all-22 which reveals the truth.

I couldn’t even get upset last night. After the first Baltimore play with Henry for 87 yards I started laughing because it was like the Bills never played against Henry before and didn’t know how to scheme for him 😂. That said, I crushed it on Draft Kings because I knew Henry was going to run all over them. It was just a sad day for the Bills. I’m more of a realist anyway. People keep praising the Bills about how they throttles the Dolphins and Jags, but the Dolphins were without Tua a large part of the game and the Jags are 0-4…I’m not sure what that really says. However, I appreciate your positive spin on things.

Babbich got exposed. His defense got blown off the line by Ravens offensive line all game long and he didn’t do anything to generate additional pressure on Jackson. Bills fans should not be worried. This is a one-time deal. The Ravens' style of smash-mouth football is just not sustainable over a 17 + Playoffs season. The Ravens players, namely the Running Backs and Quarterback cannot ram their heads into 19 teams through the season and still be effective in January. The NFL is now a finesse game. This is exactly why the Ravens always reach the Playoffs and are spent. If this game happens in December, the score would have been flipped. The Ravens run on borrowed time each year becuase of their style of play. They will fade again this year.
