Okay. I didn't expect to need clarification here, but I'll just spell things out since so many people are apparently misinterpreting my opening comments. Folks... I was JOKING about LeBron, AD and everyone needing to get off Pelinka's ass when it comes to making moves, because Vando is coming back, and that should count as a free agent, which by extension means Rob is doing his job. That was FACETIOUS. Why would I give Pelinka credit for Vando getting healthy? Does he also double as Vando's physical therapist? That makes zero sense. I was making fun of the "Player X who's been out all year and is now back is the equivalent of a free agent" narrative we often hear from pundits... or sometimes execs. C'mon, people. Do u understand how stale it is year after year fighting for nothing?? The rosters lately have not been up to par at all… some scoring and defense or a ball handling shot creator would lighten their load and ease the pressure.. remember 2 years ago when we got rid of Westbrook and then we started playing the best ball we had in years?? That comes from the idea of them fighting for something. When ur 40 years old and year after year u are given terrible rosters.. it can weigh on u. We have been bottom 5 shooting teams with two paint dominant players for years… we also have had the least 2 way talent in the entire league.

The Lakers would truly impress me if they stopped listening to idiots like you two and started to adapt to the times that they’re in when it comes to the NBA’s new CBA. The Lakers don’t need either Anthony Davis or LeBron James to survive in the long run, let alone get back to being a championship contender. What the Lakers need to do is start marrying the good young talent that they already have in Austin Reaves, Max Christie and Dalton Knecht with the good young talent of other teams that they can easily net in an Anthony Davis Trade. THAT is how you build a strong sustainable NBA franchise going forward in today’s NBA. This isn’t the NBA of 1985 where big market teams can simply outbid the small market teams. If you’re the Lakers, you’d be best served trading your 2027 and 2029 1st round picks to the Jazz for Collin Sexton and Walker Kessler. Then you trade Anthony Davis to the Rockets for Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith and THREE 1st round picks. Those four players that you traded for are all elite young talents that have proven they can play in the NBA. All of them still have plenty of upside as well. Then you add that quartet to the Lakers’ Austin Reaves, Max Christie, Dalton Knecht, Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt. Now you’re in a better position to see if you should keep Rui and Vando or just one of those two. Jeanie Buss likes to think she operates like her late, great father Dr. Jerry Buss. The Lakers’ two biggest problems are Jeanie Buss (off the court) and LeBron James (on AND off the court). Until those two problems are corrected, the Lakers will continue to be the highly dysfunctional franchise that they are. Meanwhile, Rob Pelinka essentially told y’all last summer that he wasn’t making any huge trades, because the Lakers are NOT a legit championship contender and thus far, he’s proven to be correct. LeBron James does NOT affect winning at a championship level and hasn’t done so in YEARS while Anthony Davis is NOT a leader and has never been a leader at any point during his career. AD is far more suited to be a superstar on another franchise that doesn’t need his leadership skills in order to survive. AD needs to go somewhere that he can just blend in. A team like the Houston Rockets could use AD. Their culture has already been set in the right way. The Lakers need to call the Rockets and offer Anthony Davis to them for Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith and THREE 1st round picks while moving as far away from LeBron James as humanly possible. LeBron brings nothing of value whatsoever to the Lakers or to any team that he goes to, because there is NO value in selfishness, drama, chaos and toxicity. None whatsoever. The Lakers will rue the day if they don’t trade Anthony Davis while his trade value is still very high. The Lakers’ new ‘ethos’ had better be franchise stability enables franchise functionality. We see 5 or 6 teams do it every year, including players with “untradable” contracts. Maybe with Vando back the lakers can make some noise defensively and it opens up the offense. Yes, We need to make some moves however, These Moves should be for Players that can help US now and in The Post LBJ Era/AD Era (26/27-27/28). The Difference with LBJ & AD is They are now 40 & 32 in March (34 in Basketball Years) and They can no longer beat Players to The Basket 1on1 off the Dribble like They did in The Bubble. They now have to turn Their bac to the Basket or need a Screen/Pic. Nor can LBJ guard SF or AD guard PF for 25+ Minutes a Game - They Jog bac on Defense unless They’re above the 3-Point Line/LBJ is not fighting thru Screens & gets lost on Defense/AD is now struggling to keep players in Front of Him; especially 1-4.

It’s the same story with the top three teams in the East, with two against the Knicks and Celtics and one against the Cavs. Therefore, both statistically and subjectively, the remaining schedule could be called ‘tougher’ than the first half of the season. It’s also notable that, with such a strong Western conference, a sub 500 record for the second half of the season will likely result in a lower finishing position in the West than it would in the East. It's not inconceivable they lose enough to finish with a losing record. Currently, finishing sub 500 would mean an 11th place finish outside the play-in of course. I do believe that I know what I’m saying. However, in researching this answer, I can see why James and Davis are pushing for roster changes. Current trajectory indicates they might miss the post season entirely. I keep hearing lavine, butler, Beal, vuc, Ingram, fox , Jonas etc. That’s the wrong mindset imo, they need to be going after guys like miles turner(highly unlikely now but they should at least try), rob Williams, walker kessler(they have been targeting him), more defensive wings, lonzo (if healthy), Bruce brown (but not for $20 million) etc. They need to build a team and not just get a third guy. Sounds like you guys have finally come to the realization that this team is stuck. Years of shipping out assets because a certain player feels like if he doesn't win its because he "doesn't have enough help" as opposed to another team just being better constructed, ran, and coached has caught up to us. You need help and our scouting department has routinely found diamonds in the rough of 2nd round picks but you force the organization to draft your son who isn't ready to help make a cup of coffee. You take max money that you don't need and your partner in crime only plays hard when you do...which isn't often. Thanks for finally getting to the point most of us Laker fans have known for awhile. There is no trade that makes them contenders NOW or the immediate future. Now I need you guys to get Trevor Lane on Lakers Nation on board so he can stop with that annoying thought of Rob needs to "adapt and overcome" and make a trade. A trade to do what...still go home in the first round. Lakers won't be good again until Leflop and the Fall Guy are gone

I think the front office is doing exactly what they should and that's being very protective of the few assets that we have. Obviously a 40yr old Lebron and an end of his prime AD don't give a damn which is also understandable from their perspective. I personally would like be able to evaluate this front office without someone as powerfully influential as Lebron on the team. I like the job that was done prior with the selections made from Ingram, Ball (even though I was screaming for Tatum lol) Josh Hart, Kuz, Zubac ect. Those kids never got a chance to grow together. The restrictions of the new cap makes it mandatory that you be able to build the traditional way through the draft and the whole "let's trade everything for our friends" era is over. Which I know doesn't interest a 40yr old but he's the one who decided to continue to play at 40 so he could force his son on the Franchise. He doesn't care about the future of the Lakers but we real Lakers fans do. It's hard for them to pick a lane when their most important player is notoriously selfish. If they came out and said that and Lebron decided to leave they would get crucified

If this is true, then Lebron and AD need to shut up and become real leaders of the team. It is funny to me how every other great player is judged and expected to elevate their teammates except these two so-called great players LeBron and AD. They take virtually all the capspace and don't do anything to elevate their teammates and want a GM to go out and bring all-star players back in a trade. Stop the delusion, the Lakerd are a bad team because of LeBron and AD. The Lakers need to gut this team get rid of LeBron and AD while AD has some value. They will get nothing for LeBron and restore the pride to this organization it may take a couple of seasons, but it is better than the worthless product the Lakers have now.

Lebron, for being so high IQ, is an idiot. He could take less money and pay a younger star to play with. Since they got rid of McGee and Howard, and LeBron have been screaming for a centre to no avail. Pelinka supported Ham by forced Davis to play centre without any good support. Vando is one of the worst offensive players in the league. Play Knect or trade him and the other future first round picks your not going to play.
