I KNOW Reed can get there cuz he's a Cerebral player, and I think that's what most excited Ime & Rafael Stone about him .. Maybe the Pressure to thrive at the NBA level is too much for him right now .. UNLESS, we know we're not going to do anything in the playoffs, but why handcuff your team with that mentality? Let these guys enter the playoffs as a 2 or 3 seed, see who they draw and see how they perform on the playoff stage. That's the whole point, isn't it? Getting to, and THROUGH, the playoffs? Let's see who looks like they belong there. Then, make moves. Reed is a #3 pick. Those picks are usually not on #2 in the conference teams, and when they do, they're usually not playing a TON of minutes, and if they are, they're BALLING. So, yeah, let him go to the G for a minute and get some confidence and flow.

Why do we need to directly compare FVV and Jalen Green? Fred is point guard and Jalen is shooting guard, no? They are each best doing those respective roles. Those two roles are not “lead” guard as opposed to, I suppose, “assistant” guard. They each have a very important and mostly different role. If Jalen becomes the point guard, he won’t be able to focus on his own scoring, which is actually detrimental to the team imo. This conversation is off point.

That is a very good point! It seems like the issue is in order to get Alperen going they took the ball out of Jalen hands. Because Fred slow the game down. If Jalen can develop as the primary ball handler/point guard, everyone on the team would elevate too. Barring a trade - for this season I don't see anyone except Fred running the show. Udoka will not tolerate the added turnovers that comes from any other player that can play the point. I will admit Jalen is doing much better at that aspect of his game but he's not Fred. Even though the offense would probably pick up some the rockets win by rebounding and winning the turnover battle. If you look at the stats from the Lakers' game you wonder how we won. When you look closely the difference was that with rebounding and fewer turnovers we got more shots(I think it was 11). That is how the Rockets win without being a high percentage shooting team(especially 3's). I'm of the opinion that Reed's shooting woes are conditioning related with the added burden of the extended three point line. I think its the same thing Jabari went through. I suspect the Rockets have a conditioning program the really takes it out of the young guys who haven't been through a couple of NBA seasons. I also think Reed needs to play against the really good defenders you see in the NBA and I wonder if he's going to see that in the G-League. I predicted 54 wins and getting to 4th or 5th place in the West. The West has really under-performed and the Rockets look like they will get 2nd or 3rd place. I really believe they will win their first series - not sure after that. As far as trades go, I think the deal for Devin Booker is done - the teams are just waiting for the off-season. It will be designed for the Suns to get out of the second apron so expect some big roster changes in the off-season. I don't think the Rockets will risk jeopardizing that deal so I don't expect much movement at the trade deadline. Everything is on hold until we see where the Suns pick lands.

Good pod Jackson. I hate to say it, but Reed is likely trade bait for either Fox or Booker. I hear people saying how we should respect what FVV has done as the training wheels for this club and sign him and keep him around. while I do respect what FVV has done we also paid FVV 80 million dollars to play that role. this league at the end of the day is a business and we have to look out for the needs of the club over personal needs. now if we can do both great, but to keep pushing this club forward the training wheels have got to go. we need a permanent answer at PG. wheather that's Jalen, Amen or Fox this is the area to upgrade IMO to take us to the next level

Yall en route to 40+ wins for the second straight season with FVV. This year 2nd in the West so far and first playoff appearance since 2020. Guaranteed they fall off if Fred leaves. Jalen will be a turnover machine if given the ball handler keys and his poor shit selection will be glaring. Thompson is a horrible shooter so defenses won't respect his shot and can he initiate an offense and run the show?? Problem with rockets fans is they criticize instead of appreciating. Rockets literally had 17,20 and 22 wins before FVV. Exactly why yall won't win anyone now.

@@De59161 the idea is to keep getting better. FVV has taken us far as he can. now we need a PG who can pickup where FVV left off. think about it.......we have good big's. we have good wings. what we need is a better floor general. YES FVV settles us down, but he is unable to make players around him better. he is unable to use all the tools in our tool bag

I told you when y’all drafted him. He’s a boy. Why take him when you have Cam Whitmore. Reed isn’t good. Rockets should have take Clingan, Edey, McCain, Dalton. So many other options
@mblackman117016 күн бұрын
I wanted Dalton or Ware(the heat picked him).. I wanted us to trade down

This is the last season for Fred in Houston.... We need a better play. Respect, but we need to take our business.

Naa Freddy stays. You are jumping the gun here. Freddy is still the money man this year. He can step back a bit, but they NEED him this year.

I'd like to see Jalen in a playoff series before we make any decision about dumping Fred.

If y’all trade FVV y’all aren’t even going to be a playoff team, no matter how “special” you think Reed is going to be, he’s not close to there yet, do you “fans” even watch your own games, FVV sets everybody up for easy baskets, him and Udoka are the reason y’all are in 2nd place in the West…y’all comments act like y’all haven’t been bottom feeders forever, with FVV y’all are a ways away from being contenders, without him y’all are light years away

2nd in the West. Just put Fred back to 6th man. And possibly trading him later with Jabari
@timothystrathman922715 күн бұрын
Have to disagree with the FVV take. Fred takes care of the ball so much better and Jalen is a microwave eat this point. I'd keep Fred starting and make Jalen the sixth man.

move on from Van Vleet? why always crazy Healine, we all know VanVkeet is only 6ft which is very limited for today NBA standard, Vleet is still a decent PG

Ime would Never bench fred. Thats his security blanket. Youre also not going to bench a 40mil dollar guy that you brought in specifically to be the leader of this team. If jalen and Amen show over the next month that they bring out the best versions of eachother playing together...it will be on Stone. Rafael will have to find the courage to tell Ime he is trading fred. You have to take advantage of his 40mil expiring contract while you have it. Otherwise we are going to be negotiating if we want to pay a back up guard next year 20-30mil dollas in FVV...

Jackson respectfully I feel like when you take comments from the fans (Jalen gravity, do not turn the ball over) it would be great if you point it out even if you do not give fan names. Otherwise it is frustrasting for anyone leaving comments in this platform :) I do like your pod and passion for the team!
