At first, I really didn’t like Boston taking on as much of the contract as they did, but now that the dust has settled, Korpi seems like a real likable dude, and it is highly likely he rebounds in Boston’s system and becomes a totally serviceable back up. Especially under the guidance of goalie Bob and the Bruins having arguably the strongest defense on paper in the NHL

it's easy to get your hopes up... as a sens fan, he will bring nothing but disappointment, with the occasional exceptional game once in a while, just to make you wonder if he's worth it. People can blame the defense in front as much as you want, but I could name multiple plays where he literally lets in slow wrist shots from the blueline with no screen.

I've been saying thst. Goalie Bob worked with him in l.a. and he was goalie Bob approved before the trade. They've worked together and Bob knows what he's capable of. I think he's gonna flourish and make amazing trade bait when bussi is ready

Totally agree.. Goalie Bob knows who he has, Look what he did with Ullmark. And how he & Ullmark created those stats for Jeremy swayman, who's a legend in his own mind.

@TheFoolintherainnАй бұрын
Even more impressive is the magic he worked with Swayman .. The way he coddled that schedule, down to the rosters . One example- He has Jeremy with a win against Vegas. Jeremy was chosen for that game because it was in Boston, Neither Mark stone bor Jack eichel made the trip So it looks like Jeremy beat Vegas Lol! But he didn't actually play Vegas Isn't that clever?! Goalie coaches get financial bonuses when their goalies win awards I say they get the boys signed, pump up his stats again,and move him out the door...

I really hope Jonas finds his game with Bob's help. Seems like a really likeable dude and seems like he would be a good fit in Beantown

Goalie Bob knows korpisalo... He's worked with him before Look what goalie Bob did with Ullmark And especially, creating those statistics for another goalie named Jeremy Swayman - who I've been calling "a legend in his own mind"
@FMJeepingАй бұрын
@@TheFoolintherainn I agree. Goalie Bob has the golden touch. I wouldn't be upset if Swayman doesnt get signed. At this point, trade him and let another team overpay for him. Get a mid range goalir Korpisalo can tandem with and save some cap space.
@TheFoolintherainnАй бұрын
@@FMJeeping before ottawa, he did VERY well during that dozen or less games with Los Angeles. With columbus during the covid bubble, CBJ beat leafs first round of playoffs, Joonas with a 0.941 SV % He shows up for playoffs. Apparently goalie Bob worked with him when he was in LA, he must do Private consulting? From that experience, Joonas already plays the style goalie Bob preaches. The other day I saw a video of Korpisalo getting pissed at his defenseman last season! Lol! I'd say there's an increased chance Jeremy walks... Or Don's sending Sway a message: Sweeney is telling reporters to "kick this down the road into next week " I think they're going to see how Korpisalo & Bussi do at training camp. It'll be fun finding out. Enjoy the ride!

@@TheFoolintherainn honestly if you had asked me at the end of last season of we should let Sway walk. Id say you would be crazy, but from all reports. Not a team player and he has a pretty high opinion of himself. I still stand by the idea of shopping him for some scoring pieces and cap space. Build off Korp and Bussi.
@TheFoolintherainnАй бұрын
@@FMJeeping we're in the same camp, yet I'm truly hoping we're dead wrong. They've invested so much in him, they're not just going to let him walk away with all that value. Unfortunately, his value lacks international experience that many believe is crucial. Maybe Jeremy can buck that trend. Although it doesn't help the locker room, I'm not worried about a goalie not being a team player - because the last arrogant uncooperative goalie we've had was named..... Tim Thomas! 😁 but the other thing is... (And I'm going to get nailed for this one) I have a slight prejudice. I now live in alaska. These people have attitude problems overall! They seriously live in a state of delusion here. Nothing is quite as it seems in Alaska. They hide massive crime rates here. They just refuse to take reports! It never actually happened! It's the standard operating procedure to get ripped off. So this type of manipulation actually doesn't surprise me coming out of an Alaskan. Okay, go ahead.... You can nail me for that!
@marclefebvre7071Ай бұрын
Absolutely luv Korpi's attitude. He seems feisty which could mean he is here to win the starting job not be a back up. Sweeney must be happy that Korpi came in with this attitude and if he plays well in camp, Sweeney can deal Swayman to get what he really needs, a 1st line LW. You can make the argument that Pasta and Lindholm are a poor man's version of McDavid/Draisaitl and they need a seasoned LW that complements them. Perfect fit is Lawson Crouse of the Coyotes. The kid is 6ft, 4 inches and could play the role of a guy who works to get the puck to Pasta and Lindholm and parks his ass in front of the net for re-directs. Crouse has not reached his potential as a pro and moving to Boston might be the change the kid needs. Sweeney might be able to do a straight up trade because the Coyotes goalie is Connor Ingram who is no Swayman!
