The Padres won 6-1.[36] On May 12, players from the San Diego Padres, including Tatís and Wil Myers, tested positive for COVID-19; Tatís was placed on the injured list due to COVID-19.[37] On May 19, the Padres activated Tatís from the COVID-19 IL.[38] On June 2, Tatís was named the National League Player of the Month for the month of May, batting .353/.440/.824 with nine home runs, eight stolen bases, 26 RBIs, and 21 runs scored in 20 games.[39] On June 25, Tatís had his first three-homer game in his career against the Arizona Diamondbacks to give the Padres an 11-5 win.[40] On July 1, Tatís was selected to start his first All-Star Game, becoming the first All-Star starter from the Padres since Tony Gwynn.[41] In a July 6, 2021, game, Tatís received media attention for an unusually high catch, which appeared to resemble a double jump typically seen in video games.[42][43] On July 24, Tatís hit his 30th home run of the season, becoming the fourth Padres player to have hit 30 home runs and stolen 20 bases in a season, after Steve Finley, Wil Myers, and Ryan Klesko. Focused on instagram image, being liked for image rather than work ethics, building an outer persona without being real on the inside, and to make lots of money except they dont want to earn it. Tatis is a great player in general, but im a lifelong Padres fan and my team has never won a championship. Its 2023, the city has finally PAID for one yet we have some key players who seem to put baseball on same level as image, thats all im saying. When you see a multi million dollar athlete laughing on bench, dancing on basses or after plays when his team is losing, thats not a focused player to me. Ive watched his career on Padres, he gloats and loves praise after HE makes a play or hits, yet this is a TEAM sport. If your team is one of the biggest under achievers in history of baseball maybe its time to shut down the social media, the party atmosphere and get to winning. But what do i know, im just one of thousands of lifelong fans whove spent hours, days years and lots of money supporting a losing team while younger fans seem to just enjoy the theatrics from players rather than winning games. Again, just my opinion, nothing here is fact...except the part about Padres never winning a championship and being one of the biggest dissapointments in history
