Thanks once again Kenny. I can't even count how much time your tutorials have saved me.

There should be an option to lock only certain tracks either left or right, up or down, or whatever else you want, but only the tracks you choose... That way you can still do those things on a track that you're working on, without accidentally messing up another track.

This is ridiculous, that Reaper has SOOOO many options, and they don't have that!

This is exactly what I am after, there's lock track controls and height but not the track items, I just want to be able to lock it completely so I can't move it or accidentally delete clips or edit them inadvertantley.

Haha, not being aware of the left/right movement lock feature, I did always split items on the grid before moving them to other tracks. It's so incredible how one comes up with half-baked work-arounds, while it requires only one click to do it the right way...

Separating Playback Selection and Time Selection the way Reaper has done, as two separately executed and labeled functions, might be its most brilliant feature. For a longtime Pro Tools user, it is a dream come true. In Pro Tools it is so clumsy as to almost be unusable. I can foresee serious improvements to the Lock Settings dialogue to make choosing from favorite settings a single click.

Kenny, how can I completely lock all tracks except the one I'm working on? I used to use a video suite that allowed me to do this to avoid slip-ups - it was SO useful, especially for a clumsy person like me. Thanks for all the tutorials

Can locking be on for one or more items, and off for other items? This is more flexible I think. Item specific locking instead of universal locking.

Is there an option to lock playback itself? I use Reaper for concerts and want to prevent failing playback by left mouse clicking

Thanks for that! And what about automation items locking? Are they included in some other category in locking settings?

Is there an option to lock the notes in the midi editor when I'm painting in a lot of notes horizontal. For example filing in1/4 notes on your high hat?
@bahutu8023 жыл бұрын
Don't know whether I understand correctly. But you can set the note length to quarter notes and enable snap. Then when drawing, it draws one note every quarter note (if they should remain at the same location but be shorter, let's say, only 1/8 long, first draw quarter notes, then select all of them and trim the end point).
@LoveNjustice3 жыл бұрын
@@bahutu802 thanks for the reply. No I meant when you hold down the Ctrl and Alt key and use the brush tool to paint in the notes horizontally. It's not a big deal. I just though maybe there was an option to lock it when painting in the notes.

The content of these videos are usually gold and I appreciate the time and effort put into them, but the strange. Puncuation. Really makes it. Hard. For me to watch. For more than a few.... Minutes. Is it a pedagogical thing?

What are you on about punctuation?? These are narrated videos, not written prose. Assuming you meant diction, the answer is: Get your head out of your butt, I don't see how anyone of average IQ could have difficulties understanding Mr. Goia's clear and moderately paced instructions. Pedagogical opportunity, indeed.

Robert Liljenström I would say “definitely yes, it is”. I can find no fault whatsoever in these phenomenal videos.
@bahutu8023 жыл бұрын
I was always wondering whether I was the only one getting a bit upset about this :D After some videos I got used to it and almost appreciate it, because at the end I think his punctuation is meant to help identify the important technical terms and so on (although I could live without it...).
