One thing I absolutely love with Madness Combat it actually keeps the duration of the music consistently long especially for boss fights so you'll rarely notice it looping as you can actually finish a fight in that length of time

I love the fact that this is a modified theme of the main menu, and if in the main menu this composition sounded mysterious and at the same time positive like "There are too many unsolved mysteries in Nevada... Especially in the Nexus... Go and solve them!" Then in the battle with Phobos, it sounds energetic and less positive, as if saying with all her sound, "Your adventure has come to an end, you were able to solve everything, and turned off the Nexus! Im glad you liked it! To be perfectly honest, around the end of development I was working on what became "Linebreaker" for the final boss fight. But I shelved it and went back to the drawing board. I figured Id try and do the whole Halo "mjolnir" mix on the main theme and see what I could do. Turns out the strong melody work I did all those years ago was suited for something big and epic for a nice finale.

The idea was to sprinkle in melodies and themes into other songs but they ended up all just being individual pieces. So when it came time for a "final boss" I had originally started LineBreaker for it. But one day as an experiment I grabbed the ol Menu session and started playing around with it.

I got back into playing this game recently after taking a break from it. I was playing through the game on Tourist difficulty(I had already played through Normal and Hard mode, I just wanted to beat the easy mode before doing the hardest difficulty). I had completely forgotten that Director Phobos had his own theme so I was just vibing to Project Gestalt's theme. When Phobos' part of the fight began, I recognized the main menu theme after a few seconds of listening to the song and started having an absolute blast. This is probably one of my favorite songs from the game. It's great to listen to both in-game and out. The entire soundtrack is great!
