After the outward run of 'The Dorset Coast Statesman' reached Poole, it was discovered that the ScotRail Mk3 in the consist No.11082 wasn't route cleared over third rail sections of the tours route, this being all the way between Acton Central and Weymouth.
At Poole, the train ran into the siding, 47712 shunted into the platform, 47593 and the stock shunted the ill-fated Mk3 into the headshunt, and pulled forward again for 47712 to couple back to the rear.
Around 3 hours late, the charter finally left for Weymouth.
The reasoning behind the Mk3s not being cleared is understood to be that the bogies which the Mk3s sit on (BT10's), are of a long swing link type, and the restriction is down to how the yaw damper is attached.
Problems aside, the Statesman charter left Weymouth around 40 minutes late and was all made up again by Stratford.
First up, 'Galloway Princess' is seen storming through Ingatestone, before then being sighted at Manningtree, arriving and departing with a booked 'Drop Off'.
Both shots are under the working of 1Z63 from Weymouth to Norwich.
Thanks for watching, South East Train Hub.
