Å Lofoten • Shortest name village • 4K UHD

The traditional fishing village with the shortest possible name Å, or also Å i Lofoten, is located at the very end of the E10 road leading through the whole of Lofoten and is thus the imaginary peak of Lofoten travel. It is located on the southeast coast of the island of Moskenesøya, on a rugged rocky coast below high mountains, such as Andstabben mountain (514 m). The name of the village comes from Old Norse and means "small river". The sign with the letter Å marking the beginning of the village is a frequent target of thieves who take it away as a Lofoten souvenir. Local attractions include the tørrfisk cod museum or the well-preserved fishing village complex with typical rorbu fishing huts. To the south of Å is the Moskenesstraumen strait, with its mighty sea maelstrom, which has earned its literary reputation as a great danger to sailors and fishermen. The local malstrøm was described as early as 2,000 years ago and has commanded the respect of local residents ever since.
Tradiční rybářská vesnice s nejkratším možným názvem Å, nebo také Å i Lofoten, se nachází na samotném konci silnice E10 vedoucí skrze celé Lofoty a je tak pomyslným vrcholem lofotského putování. Nachází se na jihovýchodním pobřeží ostrova Moskenesøya, na drsném skalnatém pobřeží pod vysokými horami, např. horou Andstabben (514 m). Jméno obce pochází ze staré norštiny a znamená “malá řeka”. Značka s písmenem Å označující počátek vesnice je častým cílem zlodějů, kteří si ji odvážejí jako lofotský suvenýr. Mezi místní pamětihodnosti patří muzeum tresek tørrfisk nebo výborně zachovalý komplex rybářské vesnice s typickými rybářskými chatami rorbu. Na jih od Å se nachází úžina Moskenesstraumen s mocným mořským vírem malstrøm, který si vydobyl svůj literární věhlas jako velké nebezpečí pro námořníky a rybáře. Místní malstrøm byl popsán již před 2 000 lety a od té doby budí respekt zdejších obyvatel.

Pro mne velmi zajímavá lokalita. Všiml jsem si, že i zde je příliv a odliv. A k tomu úzké místo vtoku do fjordu. Úplně to tam vidím na krásnou přílivovou malou vodní elektrárnu. Teda hodně nenápadnou, aby zase nenarušila tu krásnou krajinu a zástavbu. Díky Petře za super podívanou.👍😋

Great quality Petr ! love the shots with the Dji Air 2s ! The image from the gorpo 8 is really good have you thought about a gimbal ? this one fits very well with gopro 8 ( hohem iSteady Pro 4-Gimbal ) you can also see your screen from the back and not to pricey i think ( it keeps horizon level )
