Thousands of men are now sitting back day dreaming about doing something like this, sadly only a few ever will. @C W there is a difference between an environmentalist and a poser, an environmentalist knows that these are maple trees and by the location which is canada they know that its a fast growing and sometime invasive species. Its not wrong to build a cabin out of it, its what real men do, with the available resources, its sustainable. The people who are talking shit probably dont have proper education, and know nothing about the environment or the means of conservation. And you also dont get to generalize " environmentalist" because what you are saying isnt true.

A quick comment to the people who downvoted due to tree slaughter: as long as the cabin doesn't burn down, all the embodied carbon will stay in the logs, and selectively cutting down trees will allow more vegetation to flourish in its place. As long as he's not clear-cutting the forest, this is a very sustainable means of construction.

Love the video! After watching all of the cabin videos, this video truly gives the viewer (or at least me ) a true appreciation of the level of work and pride taken for ONE man to accomplish this task. This is truly a work of art!! Well Done!

This is just amazing. Growing up in the kind of world we live in today, it seemed weird and crazy to think that one guy could build a house on his own, with no fancy machines or electronics, just with his own two hands. I absolutely love this

My hand hurts. All that manual sawing. :o I've cut trees down with a buck saw and just cutting through a single tree is quite a lot of work. Cross cutting an entire log into planks... :o

It is really cool... But to say it's one of the most amazing accomplishments you've ever seen? We broke the speed of sound. We mastered flight. We traveled to the moon. We cured malaria. And this used to be very common thing to do, few centuries ago, noone would bat an eye... Sure, it's cool, but come on.

I'm always amazed at how someone could downvote a video like this. What the heck is the problem? Great video.
@DarkClow2206 жыл бұрын
it's genocide of trees. That was not needed in 21 ST. You can use more modern materials.
@surfbouy6 жыл бұрын
DarkClow 1983 1)I don't think the word genocide means what you think it means. 2) He plants new trees. 3) It's a demonstration, not a housing project. 4) In many instances using "modern materials" would consume far more natural resources than it would to build something with the resources at hand.

I actually subscribed to your channel after the giant lean to build with joe. I've been watching the cabin build since the begening. I just showed my wife this video and she was blown away that someone could accomplish all by themselves. Amazing stuff man, truly are an inspiration.

Coming from tons of NZ hippie country life videos.This is the best country cabin making video and the must have constructing house skills. This is what we so called a COMFORTABLE AND SIMPLE COUNTRY LIFE but not that easy. I nearly forgot the most fundamental to burn the wood surface to deter termite damaging the cabin wood. A cabin by a person in fast moving. Actually it must take longer time to finish a cabin project. I give A+ for this American style cabin. HAHAHA A real stuff attract 1B ASAP............ STF.. . .........
