I like it, and would add these modifications; add a 18" x 30" or so table up above your left leg, by 'wedge', to keep the splits from falling on yur toes.... or steel toed boots, for sure. lol. Hmmm...Ok, maybe this. Mount the whole contraption in an old 7' bed/trailer outta a Chevy or Ford. No need to pick up the split pieces twice and move them to the main woodpile. Unless you got kids and a wheelbarrow who can do it. hahaha. Yeah, I'll have a beer. Nice and warm in there? burp......

@av8r3400 - just in from splitting 6 face cord of sugar maple. snowed about 10 inches while i was doing it ....... Hope to get movie up soon but i gotta crash-- snowplowing in a few hours

Cutting and splitting is the fun part, now you gotta stack all that wood to dry! That's the part I hate. I only burn 3-4 full cord per year to take the sting off the LP bill.

@kennyplay -wrong again, that was a demonstration on how to remove a stuck block from splitter. Why would it wreak acoupler ? Relief valve goes off. Maybe you could show me how you do it : ? That pump has split over 3000 cord of wood and on 2 nd coupler ......... hmmmmmmm

What kind of pump is it? I've considered something like this with a small engine. I've wondered of a truck power steering pump would be enough.

@kitfoxflyer Actually Its H beaM not H bean. Haha! Ok thank you for the Input on the length of the beam. Once again you have a very well built machine.
@geraldc365411 жыл бұрын
like your splitter, wedge is better than mine will upgrade, an electric winch on a boom will allow you to lift for many more years, a table to your left for wood to be on while splitting will help you also and a table under wood while splitting which moves with pusher works great

@kitfoxflyer Men who do not need to rely on others for their basic needs, need thee things. What are you?
@kennyplay230115 жыл бұрын
obviously @ 4:40 you stopped trying to force it through, because it couldn't. And yes, it could perhaps ruin the spider cuppler bushing, hoses or linkage. The point I was making it to average person that sending a log in sideways, against the grain is not a good thing. Say what you will, but it's not good.
@JohnyAngelo11 жыл бұрын
Its interesting you all make those splitters gas powered.

@kennyplay230115 жыл бұрын
you have a question mark? to show it can cut across the grain? well, actually it didn't. @ 4:40... Not to say at all that the splitter is not good, it is great! but I was saying that, forcing a log sideways against the grain could probably ruin it and consided to most, not a good thing to do... ps- i cut and split wood myself, so I am not just anybody commenting

This splitter is like all others, they have a wedge and need a lot of power and hands on the log. I have totally engineered a new splitting system that uses less power and limited hands and NO WEDGE.!!! That's just one part of my vast changes to log splitters. How about rough terrain ATV ,have one proto typed as well.
@kitfoxflyer10 жыл бұрын
