Log Splitter Maintenance

Today I do maintenance on my Champion 34-ton wood splitter. I changed the engine oil, clean the engine air filter, add hydraulic fluid, tighten hydraulic lines and take care of a little rust by painting it over. I need this wood splitter to last me 20 years and that is possible only if take good care of it.

Si, es verdad. Le voy dar mucho uso en Enero, Febrero, y Marzo cuando las temperaturas estén baja. Ahora tengo suficiente madera para Noviembre, Diciembre, y principios de Enero. Siempre es bueno tener el equipo limpió para saber dónde están los problems. Si me dura 30 años, pues entonces tendré 90 años. Dios quiera.

Thanks. This wood splitter will be seeing a lot of action in January and February when the temps drop to zero or below. Gotta get it right before the harsh winter arrives. If you notice in the background, that's the wood that I will be cutting and splitting for the second half of winter.
