LEARNED AND RECORDED THIS IN A SINGLE DAY HUZZAH. This was a fun cover to tackle as it really takes that musical theatre vibe of Stolas and throws it into a rock ballad hahaha! But I tried incorporating my own theatre-spin on it and really tried to keep his accent more strongly based on requests I’ve been seeing!!
The harmonies were super fun to play with ahhhh

Okaaaay, getting a sense of how raw Stolas' feelings are IMMEDIATELY just by how deliberately raw your voice is, and the contrast with the simply melodic, almost detached background harmonies, AGH The progress into obvious despair, then. She's not so much getting this out of her system as she's opening the wound further, and getting even sadder with the self-reflection that this isn't just Blitz's fault, while the same background harmonies undercut that, coming from people who hate Blitz and don't have anything close to the full picture (seriously that part always makes me want to scream because STOLAS IS RIGHT, SOME OF IT IS ON HIM, HE'S GOT TO LEARN TOO, AND VEROSIKA THINKS SHE'S HELPING BUT SHE'S NOT) That echo at "burn" after the spiraling, ahhh!! Stolas unfolding like that, and the self-deprecating chuckle towards the end before the full voice crack in the last sentence, trying not to cry in front of everyone. Bryce set up an insanely high bar with this, but you more than cleared it. It's beautiful and raw and heartbreaking (and it's getting added to my therapy bills right with the og version 😭)
