Absolutely the best loading operator we have had, very thankful to have him & work alongside him. He is greatly appreciated.

I was that little kid playing in the undercarriage dirt on break, and the sound of those winches gives me goose bumps, in a good way. Wrench turning for the utility pays the bills but I do miss being in the woods.

“An old man in a young man’s profession is someone you should talk with.” As a green feller and two combat tours, I always make time to talk with the grey beards. They hold a wealth of info that can’t be paid for.

Really well done video, thanks for putting it together. There's a wealth of experience in professional operators like Mark. We need more young guys to fill in the ranks and be able to learn from those of us who are doing the work now 'cause we're all going a little grey around the edges. Appreciate the work you put into these videos.

No suprise Pete Papac had a awesome smooth old shovel. I remember from an old Loggers World interview, Catipiller used him as a west coast guinea pig developing hydraulic shovels. Papac pioneered shovel logging. One of the 1st, if not the 1st to put shovels in the brush.

I really enjoy the interviews. Always been interested in logging. The only time I've filled out a job application was for choker setter and didn't get the job either time. I went to work with my dad electrical contracting and still at it 23 years later.

What is “runnin shovel?” I hear it often.
@DanielBoonesloggingvideos2 жыл бұрын
the term refers to running a log loader
@jacobedkins19972 жыл бұрын
No high vis out there?
@DanielBoonesloggingvideos2 жыл бұрын
Naw we are pretty lax about that unless it’s the chaser or skidee, then they gotta have high viz. other side of the loader we’d be wearing hard hats as well.
